Cover from DWM 417 with Matt Smith as the Doctor. New times, people.
Transition time: The Doctor goes from David Tennant to Matt Smith and while it's taking me a while to recover from The End Of Time, I'm still looking forward to Season 5.
The Doctor (Matt Smith), Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Vincent Van Gogh (Tony Curran). Looks like episode 10 is being filmed now and then there's five more to do before Season 5 is a wrap, filming wise.
I've heard that Van Gogh might be getting a trip into the year 2010 on GallifreyBase. It loks to be true given the modern surroundings here.
Hopefully some more photos surface but in the meantime, enjoy these ones.
Edited to include this ... (extracted from DWM 417)

Writers
Steven Moffat (episodes 1,2,4,5,12 and 13)
Mark Gatiss (episode 3)
Toby Whithouse (episode 6)
Chris Chibnall (episodes 8/9)
Gareth Robers (episode 7 or 11)
Simon Nye (episode 7 or 11).
Episode 10 is currently being filmed. So 7,11,12 and 13 are due to be filmed pretty soon.
Directors are Adam Smith (episodes 1, 4 and 5), Andrew Gunn (episodes 2 and 3), Johnny Campbell (episodes 6 and 10) and Ashley Way (episodes 8 and 9).
Moffat's still calling his series Series 1 but he's mentioned that the Weeping Angels we see in the new season are ones that are at the heigth of their power and even if you don't blink, you're not neccessarily safe.Matt Smith has described Eleven as less tolerant compared to past incarnation and apparently Karen Gillan is responsible for Amy's penchant for miniskirts. Also Amy's sassy and she's got a fire in her soul/belly.Plus they were recording a scene with a Face Tendril.
Is it confirmed that Amy's present is 2010 instead of 2011, or just assumed?
ReplyDeleteI think it's just assumed, though it's interesting to see Eleven and Amy take Van Gogh to a modern setting though.
ReplyDeleteAh.
ReplyDeleteI'm unsure whether or not I want them to backtrack over the one year skip that's been active since Aliens of London. There are pros and cons, continuity-wise.
Just saw this filming report on Gallifrey News Base: http://gallifreynewsbase.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteSo it is 2010 (if the line isn't flubbed like in The Fires of Pompeii).
They better not spend the hypothetical Christmas special in 2010 London then, or they'll get Mastered.
Hmmm, the RTD commentary for The End of Time says that Donna's spring wedding was 2010. So the current working theory at Tardis Wiki is that the episodes shown in 2008 and 2009 all happened in 2009, fixing the one-year skip, and the Doctor celebrated Easter in June.
ReplyDeleteCool, I'll have to check that out. I've seen more Eleven/Amy photos in the snow and they do look gorgeous.
