With the show set to begin filming next month, some principal casting for the upcoming BBC1 saturday night fantasy drama, Atlantis has been unveiled.
Robert Emms has been cast as Pythagoras. The actor best known for his roles in War Horse and Mirror, Mirror will be playing the famous mathematician, philosopher and scientist in the upcoming series. Of course, while Emms is an interesting choice for Pythagoras, there's more inspired casting afoot for this show.
Mark Addy, known for a slew of various projects, most recent ones being the likes of Game Of Thrones and Trollied has been cast as Hercules. If this is not the most genius piece of casting Atlantis could come up with, I don't know what will be.
Elsewhere former As If and Hex actress Jemima Rooper has bagged the role of Medusa. It's always been a shame that she hasn't been in as many big shows over the years but I'm hoping with Atlantis, she gets to shine as Medusa. She's certainly a great casting choice but so far, all the ones announced are. I am intrigued now to see who we're going to get as Jason now.
