Our Father's Eyes

It's been a while but here's a look at some of the stuff I've been watching over the last few weeks.

Batwoman: We're two thirds into this show's second season and things have gotten fairly interesting. Black Mask while not perfect has been a better baddie than Safiyah and the twisted reintroduction of Kate Kane now played by Wallis Day feels like something out of Gotham - in the best way possible. Alice is always a blast, I liked the girls night episode with Ryan, Sophie and Mary, Stephanie Brown's inclusion was nice, especially for her scenes with Luke. Right now Jacob's snakebite addiction is the only weak link  this season.

Schitt's Creek: It's taken seven months but I finally finished this wonderful series and this last season was so much fun, I didn't want it to end but alas, it's over.  The last episode with David and Patrick's wedding was a good one to end with along with Johnny and Moira leaving for pastures new and even Alexis going on a journey of personal growth in this last season. Then there's Stevie being the best ever, Roland proving that he does have Johnny's back when it counted, Twyla being secretly rich, Ted and Alexis breaking up, fun snarky comments from Ronnie, Jocelyn almost taking on a new career and a brief reappearance from Jake. I'm so glad I saw this show all the way through.

Supergirl: There's no denying that Melissa Benoist's maternity leave definitely put the writers in a position where they needed to be their most creative in terms of Kara's reduced screen time. The Midvale two parter had fun with younger versions of Kara, Alex and Cat while putting Nia and Brainy at the forefront and for the better too. I'm glad the Phantom Zone plot has been resolved as the gang managed to rescue both Kara and her father and I can't wait to see what mischief Nyxly will get up to now that she's also in National City.

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier: If you were worried that Sam was never going to become Captain America, then the last two episodes were not only a treat but you've got a movie on the horizon to see even more of Sam in his new role. This series was excellent from start to finish, not just with Sam and Bucky's respective journeys but also for characters like John Walker, Sharon Carter, Zemo and Karli. That's two Disney+ shows the MCU have knocked out of the park. 

The Flash: I'll be honest - I'm finding this season something of a slog to get through. The main plot with the forces isn't that particular gripping and even things like Cisco and Chester time travelling and the whole Killer Frost trial hasn't landed as well as they should've. Although I did like the actor playing Speedforce Nora, overall the second half of the season needs to give Barry a more gripping antagonist to work with.

• Fox have cancelled Prodigal Son after two seasons.
• Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh will be leaving The Flash this season.
• The CW will now air new programming on Saturdays next season.
• Grey's Anatomy has been renewed for an eighteenth season.
• The reunion special of Friends will stream on HBO Max from May 27th.
• Netflix has renewed Bridgerton for a third and fourth season while the second season is currently filming.
• Netflix have also cancelled The Irregulars after one season.
• Loki will stream Wednesdays on Disney+ from June 9th.
• Zachary Quinto and Billy Porter will play a married couple in an upcoming Disney+ series.
• UK viewers wil be able to watch the second season of Love Victor from June 18th on Disney+.

Life Is A Caberet

I'm using a new tablet to write this so bear with me, lol but here goes.

Batwoman: Things have certainly taken an interesting turn now that we know Kate Kane is alive and that Black Mask and Enigma currently have her prisoner. Already it's a step up from the underwhelming plot with Safiyah that's currently on pause while Alice broods over her lost sister, Ryan cemented herself as Batwoman and Sophie finally questions the way of the Crows.

Schitts Creek: Five seasons down and with one more to go, I'm glad I got into this series. The fifth season had fun with Moira doing a certain horror franchise as well as the soap convention circuit, while David and Patrick got engaged, Alexis was willing to to the Galapagos with Ted, Stevie took on an iconic acting gig as well as a brief romance with Amir while Johnny had fun with a roast at Roland's expense.

Supergirl: With the CW doing the bare minimum in terms of promotion and as a consequence of Superman And Lois having to take an early break, the final season of the Girl of Steel opened on a decent note. Lena is back in the fold with the main team, Lex has been rendered mortal again and Kara herself has wound up in the Phantom Zone but at least this last season is off to a good enough start.

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier: Following the success of their previous MCU effort, it seems that Disney+ are on a roll with another hit here. Three episodes in and this show has reunited Bucky and Sam as a right Odd Couple, added a new Captain America with John Walker, shown the duality of the Flag Smashers along with welcomed returns of Sharon Carter and Zemo along with a new potential mainstay in Torres. The action sequences have been impressive along with the chemistry of the leads.

The Flash: With the Mirror Monarch story dealt with, Iris out of the Mirrorverse, it actually feels like the season has actually started properly. Both Abra Kadabra and Psych were good guest baddies, Barry and Iris dealing with their traumas handled well, along with both Caitlin and Frost being split in half with the latter gaining a new threat of her own. It's still not the show at its best but does feel like an improvement over last season.

• American Gods has been cancelled after three seasons, though Starz are considering a movie to wrap up potential loose ends.
• Annie Murphy has joined the second season of Russian Doll.
• The Right Stuff has been cancelled by Disney+.
• Rege Jean Page will not be returning for the second season of Bridgerton.
• Nicholas Podany and Donald Faison have joined the cast of Powerpuff Girls.
• Young Sheldon has been renewed for an extra three seasons.
• Daniel Zovatto and Lori Petty will star in upcoming HBO Max series Station Eleven.
• Dan Stevens has joined Starz series Gaslit.
• Law And Order: Organized Crime has added Nicky Torchia, Michael Rivera and Ibrahim Renno to the cast.
• Rose McIver will star in the US version of Ghosts which will air on CBS.

Long Live The Scarlet Witch

It's time for another brief look at some of the shows I've been watching over the last while.

Batwoman: Season 2 continues to be rather solid but not spectacular so far with the latest episodes. Here we briefly get to meet Amygdala, learn or basically be drip fed Alice and Ocean's connection to one another as well as Safiyah doing nothing of note in the background and there's also Ryan losing her girlfriend again, suffering from Kryptonite poisoning and getting closer to Luke and Mary while Sophie and Jacob look for a purpose. It's okay stuff but it's largely treading water.

Schitt's Creek: I watched the fourth season over the course of three days and I think it might be my favourite season yet. It's amazing that for a show I was hesitant to watch that I cannot get enough of it and now I'm doing my best to savour the last two seasons because I don't want it to end at all. This season had the brilliance of David and Patrick as a couple, Stevie and Johnny running the motel, Moira helping Jocelyn to give birth, Roland still be an amusing thorn for Johnny and some genuinely affecting character growth for Alexis and Ted. Then to top it all, the finale is now one of the best Christmas episodes I've ever seen in my life. 

The Flash: The first two episodes of the show's seventh season and it's definitely off to an okay start. There's still the need to finish off the Eva/Iris/Mirrorverse plot, along with original Wells return and figuring out what to do with everyone else this season. The Thinker style version of Barry in the second episode was a highlight but other than that, not too much has stood put so far.

WandaVision: The moment has come and it was certainly prepared for. After nine episodes, Wanda embraced her destiny, became the Scarlet Witch, found an appropriate way to punish Agatha Harkness, let go of Vision, her kids and Westview and it was satisfying. As was the continued presence of  Jimmy Woo and Darcy Lewis and Monica getting her own origin story for something else along with the mid and post credit scenes. The only less satisfying bits were Hayward being a one dimensional character and the Quicksilver thing but other than that, this series is easily a Top 5 MCU property for me.

• Michelle Gomez will be a regular in the third season of Doom Patrol, taking on the role of Madame Rouge.
• Grey's Anatomy may be ending with it's seventeenth season.
• Chloe Bennett, Dove Cameron and Yana Perrault will be the live action Powerpuff Girls for the upcoming CW series.
• Aya Cash, Ben Cook and Jake Picking have also signed up for Showtime anthology series, The First Lady along with Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer and Gillian Anderson.
• Special's upcoming second season on Netflix will also be it's final season.
• Annie Murphy has joined the cast of Russian Doll for it's second season.
• Supergirl will return for it's sixth season from March 30th while Superman And Lois goes on a break until May 18th.
• Josh Holloway will reunite with JJ Abrams for the upcoming HBO Max series, Duster.
• Katrina Law has bagged a recurring role on the current season of NCIS.
• America Ferrera will return for the series finale of Superstore.

Oh, Brother, You Don't Look The Same

A bit unusual for me but two TV Jumble blogs this month and here is the second one ...

Batwoman: The show took a two week break before coming back with a nice enough character piece that gave Ryan an old enemy to confront, a young boy's life to save and an ex-girlfriend to reconnect with. The same ex who also seems to be involved with Ocean, that guy that Safiyah wants Alice to kill who also has a romantic past with Alice to boot. On top of that, there's more hints of Black Mask coming, Jacob actually can work with a new Batwoman while Sophie, Mary and Luke all have different ways to deal with Kate's absence.

Bridgerton: I've finally finished the series and needless to say, I will be coming back for seconds. The second half of the season certainly put Simon and Daphne through the gamut while Eloise's hunt for Lady Whistledown surprisingly led to the latter's identity being revealed a lot earlier than expected. There was also the social downfall of the Featheringtons, a near scandal for Colin, Anthony reassessing his priorities and Benedict embarking on his own sexual escapades though sadly not with Henry. Maybe next season.

Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: I have to admit that while I liked the final season enough for the most part, there's no denying that it felt very rushed for it's own good. The Eldritch Terrors were often easily dispatched off and Sabrina and Nick's own 'happy ending'  was a questionable way to end the series. I did like the return of the original Hilda and Zelda from the 90s series and the show certainly had fun with the two Sabrinas angle but overall, this was hastily ended series.

Schitt's Creek: Finishing up the second half of the third season, I really have come to love this series and these batch of episodes were some of the best yet. The introduction of Noah Reid's Patrick has certainly been a great addition to the series and while I'm surprised they didn't hold off a little before David and Patrick got to share their big kiss, I can see why so many love this couple. Now it's time to move on to the fourth season.

WandaVision: These last two episodes have been quite the adventure for the show. Is Wanda really controlling everything? SWORD think so. Both Norm and Agnes have implied to Vision that she is and anyone who has threatened Wanda's newly created world has paid for it. However it does feel like someone else has been pulling the strings and the return of Pietro with a new face definitely raises more questions too along with Wanda and Vision's rapidly aging kids. Along with the brilliant trio of Monica, Jimmy and Darcy, things really are heating up now.

• Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay have been cast in the lead roles for HBO's upcoming adaptation of The Last Of Us.
• JJ Abrams and HBO Max will be doing a reboot of  Constantine with a BIPOC lead. Guy Bolton will be head writer for the series.
• CBS will be ending both Mom and NCIS: New Orleans with their current seasons.
• The CW have passed on the Wonder Girl pilot but will go ahead with Naomi.
• Alan Cumming will make a guest appearance on Prodigal Son.
• The Flight Attendant will air on Sky1 from March 19th.
• Jamie Chung has landed a role on the upcoming revival of Dexter.
• Simone Ashley will play Kate Sharma, who will be the love interest for Anthony in the second season of Bridgerton.
• Brooklyn Nine Nine will also be ending with it's eighth season.
• Angus Macfadyen has been cast as Jor El for Superman And Lois.

To Ruse Is To Confuse

I know, it's been over a month since my last TV Jumble blog but here's some of the shows I have been catching up on in the last few weeks.

Batwoman: Season 2 of this show has gotten off to a surprisingly strong start with managing to seam on Javicia Leslie's Ryan Wilder as the new Batwoman but at the same time not completely abandoning the idea that maybe one day Kate Kane will return to Gotham. The first three episodes not only saw Luke and Mary guide Ryan on her new role but also had both Jacob and Sophie aware of Kate's former identity, resolved the Tommy as Bruce plot very speedily and had Alice coax Safiyah out of hiding while giving us an entertaining version of Victor Zsasz. That's good work for only three episodes so far.

Bridgerton: Shonda Rhimes has spent the last fifteen years giving ABC many a glossy hit and it was only a matter of time before she moved to Netflix and would wind up giving them one of their biggest shows. I'm halfway through the first season of this soapy period drama and while  there are times, it can feel a bit silly, it's massively enjoyable with the ruse between Simon and Daphne causing more problems than solutions, the writings of Lady Whistledown being akin to Gossip Girl but there are some entertaining characters like Benedict, Eloise, Penelope, Lady Danbury and Queen Charlotte to watch here.

Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: It's the final season and the Eldritch Terrors along with Faustus (who has long since worn out his welcome) are among us. In the first half of this last season, we've seen Sabrina (x2) and the gang come up against terrors such as Uninvited, Weird and Perverse with the Void also getting closer and closer. We've had seen Hilda get married, Caliban try to get rid pf Lilith and Adam, Roz find out she's a witch and Nick declaring end game for himself and Sabrina. Let's see what the remaining four have to offer.

Schitt's Creek: I'm halfway through the third season and I'm loving this show so much at the moment that I don't want it to end. So far I've seen both David and Stevie the gorgeous himbo Jake and was a little sad to see him go. Still, at least David and Stevie got businesses to run, the latter with Johnny, Alexis went back to school, Moira decided not to do another horror movie and Ted became a thirst trap for a few minutes.

WandaVision: Disney+ have had an excellent time with a certain Pedro Pascal show doing impressive numbers for them, so after an 18 month absence, it was time for the MCU to come back swinging with the first of many shoes they have lined up for the next few years. Four episodes in and this series has mixed wonderful sitcom tropes with an underlying darkness to come out as the Multiverse so being set up, Wanda's grief has made a fantasy dream/imminent nightmare for herself and Vision, while SWORD has roped in Monica Rambeau, Darcy Lewis and Jimmy Woo into the mix to fix things. This is definitely one of the best things that the MCU and set the bar for the other shows to come.

• Superman And Lois will premiere on the CW from February 23rd. It will be now 15 episodes instead of 13 as originally planned.
• The CW have already renewed 12 shows including Riverdale, Charmed, Walker, Batwoman, Legends Of Tomorrow as well as The Flash.
• American Horror Story's tenth season has begun filming and Sarah Paulson has teased a different hair colour and cool name for the character she will play this season.
• Marilyn Manson's scenes from American Gods have been removed.
• The Stabler spin off is titled Law And Order: Organised Crime.
• Disney+ now plan to do a series set in Wakanda, expanding the Black Panther side of the MCU.
• Tian Richards will play Tom Swift for the upcoming Nancy Drew spin off on the CW.
• HBO Max will release all of It's A Sin from February 18th. The miniseries has pulled in over 6.5 million for Channel 4 and All4.
• The remaining episodes of The Walking Dead will air February 28th onwards.
• Azie Tesfai will write an episode for the finale season of Supergirl.

Girls Get It Done

My last TV jumble blog for this year (though not my last blog, lol) and while I didn't watch a lot over the Christmas period, here's a few things I did finish up on.

A Recipe For Seduction: Without a doubt the strangest thing I have ever watched in my life and if there wasn't proof enough that 2020 really was that off a year, this 15 minute telemovie in which Mario Lopez played a silver fox version of the infamous KFC creator really drove that point home. With some hammy as hell acting, a gay supporting character and a soap opera romance along with a scheming love rival and even more scheming mother, this was pure daft but surprisingly entertaining. Sequel for next Christmas, yeah?

Schitt's Creek: Okay, so I watched all of Season 2 in the space of a few days (took a break for Christmas though) and yes, I get the buzz for this show now. The second season only built on the premise of the first season with Moira running for Mayor and not being shy in being underhanded, Johnny standing up for Roland and the town in a lovely scene during the finale, Alexis dumping Ted, getting with Mutt, losing Mutt and then working for Ted while David's adventures working for Wendy, making an old family recipe with Moira and the fun rivalry with Stevie and the addition of Jake. I'm totally sold on this show and will get through the remaining four seasons. 

The Boys: Season 2 continued on a very strong streak of episodes. While Billy has been one of the worst characters for me, I did like learning more about his family and by the finale, he probably did the right in relation to Ryan. The downfalls for both Stormfront and Homelander were glorious to watch, though I suspect both will come back with a vengeance next season. I loved the 'girls get it done' montage, the use of Lamplighter and even the arrival of Victoria hints at some interesting stuff for the next season. 

The Flight Attendant: HBO Max has undeniably gotten off to something of a shaky start but over the last few weeks, things have been looking up for the new streaming app. One of those things was this particular show and while it originally seemed like it was meant to be a miniseries, it's breakaway success has gotten it a second season. As for the episodes itself, the second half of the season upped the ante with Kaley Cuoco giving a sublime performance as Cassie while Alex's death was solved, Buckley turned out to be more dangerous than expected while Miranda proved to be a handy ally to have and even Shane surprised in the finale. Annie and Max proved to be great supporting character, Megan not so much but I'm hoping we see more of Davey next season.

• Matt Smith has bagged a leading role in the upcoming House Of The Dragon series. The show will begin filming next year but will not debut on HBO Max until 2022.
• Cobra Kai will debut it's third season on Netflix a week earlier. It'll now be released on New Year's Day.
• Expect to see two certain characters from Sabrina The Teenage Witch in the final season of Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, which streams New Year's Eve on Netflix.
• HBO and BBC have renewed His Dark Materials for a third and final season. 
• The Mandalorian has been renewed for a third season but will possibly debut in 2022. Expect several more Star Wars properties on Disney+ over the next several years.
• BBC will be airing A Teacher next month over the course of five nights and in double bills.
• HBO Max are going to revive Sex And The City for a limited series, but it will likely not feature Kim Cattrall.
• The upcoming Clarice series, set to debut in February on CBS All Access will not be able to mention Hannibal Lector nor feature the character. 
• A drama inspired by Nyle DiMarco's life called Look At Me is in development for NBC.
• UK viewers can see the Stephen King miniseries The Stand on StarzPlayer from next month.

In Case Of Emergency (Try Not To Make Things Worse For Yourself)

First day of December and here's a rundown of some of the shows I've been watching just of late.

911: Lone Star: With Season 2 slated to air in January, it's nice that SkyLiving finally have the first season done and dusted. Overall, it's been a decent spin-off. Not quite as 911 itself but it's definitely had a certain charm and it does feel like we've gotten a clean slate in regards to the Michelle and Iris subplot along with TK and Carlos getting closer. I'm not sure where they're going to go with Owen's illness next season (will they really kill him off?) but I'll definitely give the next season.

Schitt's Creek: Thanks to E4 relegating the show now to a terrible graveyard slot, I decided to watch the remaining half of the season online. It's taken me a while to really get into this show but I'm glad I stuck with it because now I can see the fuss behind it. The last few episodes had me in stitches with Moira's sister, Alexis and Mutt as well as David and Stevie and of course, Johnny's unsuccessful attempt to sell the town. Looks like I'm gonna be watching the rest of the series over the next few months.

The Boys: After the first season, I decided to wait a fortnight for some breathing space for the second season and now I've blitzed through the first four episodes of the second season. Four episodes in and this season is so much stronger than the first one. The addition of Stormfront has been fascinating and proves that if you think Homelander is bad, there really is someone capable of being worse. Other than that, we've had a delightful roadtrip with Hughie, Starlight and Mother's Milk, Kimiko reuniting and losing her brother so quickly as well as Frenchie trying to help and Maeve being outed on live telly. Weak elements though would include Billy and Becca as well as the Deep getting roped into a cult and A-Train just being generally awful/ Still, a great batch of episodes.

The Flight Attendant: HBO Max seem to have the strangest of strategies with the release of this eight part miniseries as they seem determined to get it out of the way before Christmas. They really should've started this earlier then. Anyways, the first three episodes of this miniseries sees Kaley Cuoco's alcoholic flight attendant Cassandra getting way in over her head following the death of well connected hook up, Alex. Throughout the episodes, there's intriguing enough flashbacks as Cassandra tries to remember the fateful night while the supporting cast are also pretty strong, including lawyer, Annie (Zosie Mamet) and the rather deadly Miranda Croft (Michelle Gomez). The show is arguably more bonkers than gritty though but that's a good thing.

• The third season of American Gods will air on Starz from January 10th. The season will consist of ten episodes.
• Upcoming spin-off American Horror Stories (FX on Hulu) will have sixteen episodes in it's first season. 
• The Flash has temporarily halted production due to a COVID case. 
• The Mandalorian may have a spin-off focusing on Rosario Dawson's Aksoka for Disney+.
• Amazon have cancelled Utopia after one season.
• A crossover event between 911 and 911: Lone Star is currently being filmed.
• Anne Heche will recur in the second season of All Rise.
• One Day At A Day has been cancelled for a second time as POP have chosen not to renew the show.
• Netflix have renewed Dash & Lily for a second season.
• The Serpent, starring Jenna Coleman will premiere on BBC1 from January 1st. 

You Promised Me No More Lies

Okay, something of a shorter TV Jumble blog than usual but also one with some spoilers for upcoming series as well. 

911: Lone Star: There's not many episodes left to go with the first season on SkyLiving and so far, not too much has really happened. I mean, there was a moment where it seemed like Owen's leadership was a bit threatened by Judd's old pal, Billy but that quickly fizzled out and Michelle's ongoing search for her sister has given Carlos a story outside of TK but other than that, between the cases and a little more screen time for Mateo, it's felt fairly modest at this point. 

Schitt's Creek: It's six episodes into the first season and I'm liking the show but I haven't fallen into the hype compared to others. I can see why a lot of people love it and I do enjoy Moira's zaniness to offset Johnny being the more calmer of the pair while Alexis and David are amusing enough. The latter is more amusing with the grudging friendship with Stevie is quite endearing. Roland is still painfully unfunny but at least his wife and son are better characters to watch and Moira's vintage ad was pretty decent for a laugh too.

The Boys: I have finally finished up the first season and intend to start the second one later in the month. The second half of Season 1 was pretty strong with the Compound V revelation having quite the knock on effect along with the complicated animosity between Billy and Homelander getting even more complicated with Becca being very much alive and with a superpowered son. I've enjoyed Hughie's growing relationship with Starlight, the Frenchie/Kimiko connection as well character such as Mother's Milk and Maeve while finding the Deep's own comeuppance fascinating as well. Can't wait to see where the second season takes this crazy show.

• Jeffrey Dean Morgan's real life wife, Hilarie Burton will play Negan's wife, Lucille in an upcoming episode of The Walking Dead.
• Mackenzie Marsh has joined the seventeenth season of Grey's Anatomy in a recurring role.
• Stacey Farber will be playing Leslie Lar in Superman & Lois, due to air on the CW in February 2021.
• William Jackson Harper will lead the second season of HBO Max anthology series, Love Life. BBC1 recently aired the first season of the show.
• Loki has been renewed for a second season ahead of it's debut on Disney+.
• His Dark Materials has also been renewed for a third season ahead of it's second season premiere on BBC1/HBO Max this month.
• Bridgerton will debut on Netflix from Christmas Day and has already gotten a second season renewal.
• Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina's fourth and final season will be released on Netflix from New Year's Eve.
• FOX has cancelled both Filthy Rich and neXt.
• Castle Rock has been cancelled after two seasons on Hulu.

He Gives The Worst Pep Talks

It's been a while and with another lockdown due for Ireland, here's a rundown of some shows I've been watching over the last few weeks.

911: Lone Star: I'm at the halfway point of the first season of this spin-off series and it's going pretty well. Now I don't love the show quite as much as it's parent series but the characters are coming along nicely enough, the cases are fun enough to watch in parts (that bachelorette party) and the show continues to make some great strides in diversity as well as we saw some insight into Paul's dating life and of course with TK and Carlos's relationship. Owen and Michelle's plots are solid enough but I don't see Owen actually dying and we already know that Michelle isn't coming back next season.

Derry Girls: With the last two episodes of Series 2, I have officially caught up and I'm ready to see what the show will bring for it's third series when it comes back next year quite likely. I loved the homage to Carrie as well as the girls ditching school to meet Clinton and of course, James finally being accepted as a member of the gang. I'll even go as far as to say that I think the second series was even stronger than the first one and the bar had been set pretty high there.

I Hate Suzie: And it's over. I don't know if this show will get a second series (it definitely feels like it needs one tbh), but I did see a lot of what the finale did coming a mile off. Suzie's marriage collapsed, her career is in a strange place and her friendship with Naomi has also become strained. This was a great vehicle for Billie Piper's talents as co-creator and lead actor and it definitely feels like it deserves some award love at some point. US viewers will be able to see the series on HBO Max pretty soon.

Lovecraft Country: I mentioned in my previous review that this show could be so confusing to watch and the last three episodes definitely felt the most confusing. This show has definitely been an experience to watch and I quite liked Atticus and Letitia as protagonists but it might hep next season if the plotline was a little clearer to follow though.

Schitt's Creek: I know, I'm probably the last person to actually watch this show but E4 got the rights to it and are airing at least the first season in double bills. My first thoughts: I don't love it yet but I definitely like it and I can see why Moira Rose especially has made such an impression on people as the Rose family have lost their fortune and seem to be stuck in the worst town in the US with the worst televised Mayor seen in quite a while. It might take a few more episodes for me to really get into it though.

The Boys: I decided to wait until the first two season finished up to actually watch the first season and now, I've watched four episodes in the last week. This somewhat cynical take on the superhero genre definitely gets very meta and extremely violent in parts with Homelander proving to be far scarier than most comic book villain. Still though, I'm not sure that Billy Butcher is much better but fortunately there are sympathetic enough characters with Hughie, Starlight, Frenchie, Mother's Milk and Queen Maeve to balance things out a tiny bit and the superhero costumes do look pretty good. 

• Raffi Barsoumian has been cast in the role of Bishop, a sadistic scientist for the sixth season of Legends Of Tomorrow.
• The Flight Attendant will stream on HBO Max from November 26th.
• Paddy Considine has been cast in a lead role for House Of The Dragon, the prequel spin-off for Game Of Thrones. The show will debut in 2022.
• Dexter will return for a ten episode limited series on Showtime for Fall 2021.
• Euphoria will return for two special episodes ahead of it's upcoming second season. The first one will air on December 6th.
• Star Trek: Discovery has been renewed for a fourth season. Meanwhile UK viewers can currently watch the third season weekly on Netflix.
• Kristen Bell will star in The Woman In The House, which has been ordered to series to Netflix.
• Steven Krueger has joined the cast of Roswell: New Mexico for it's upcoming third season.
• Disney+ have ordered a series of Willow with Warwick Davis set to reprise his role from the original movie.
• Amazon will also be tackling a series based on I Know What You Did Last Summer.
