My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "It's Reigning (Super) Men"

Lois: "So when we changed the future"

Clark: "We rewrote Jon's entire life."

Well, that was to be expected, wasn't it? Gone was the more cheerful Jon Kent and in his place, we have a more cynical version of the character. Oh and the woman with him turned out to be Lara Lane-Kent.

Lara's a little softer compared to Jonathan (which this version went by) but at the same time, she was also keen to complete the mission to kill Lex Luthor. Lois was shocked upon learning that her alternative self was the one to order to a hit on Lex. I guess Lois does take after Sam in another universe.

Lara and Jonathan went back to this time to kill Lex but also to stop the latter from successfully launching the Eradicator onto the general population. If anything their presence in the timeline caused the very thing they were trying to stop. The siblings duo made things worse here.

Their actions even caused a lot of severe damage to Kara. Despite her best efforts, Supergirl and her super powered niece and nephew weren't enough to take out the Eradicator. However the events of this episode have Clark a clue as to how he could get his powers back. For that, he needed the help of Bizarro.

Going back to the Fortress had Bizarro render Clark unconscious. This lead to a decent cliffhanger and I guess by the end of next week's episode, Superman will be fully restored. As for the Eradicator, it's amazing how quickly Lex lost control of it. Not even five minutes out of stasis and it had a mind of it's own.

- Amanda Waller and Slade both enjoyed putting Lex in his place throughout the whole episode. Waller even threatened to have LexCorp shut down.

- Jimmy and Kara are still in an awkward place with each other. Kara was pretty annoyed with him.

- They really did dress Jonathan and Lara as twins. I assumed they are twins in this continuity. They look about the same age.

- Chronology: From where the previous episode left off.

It's Reigning (Super) Men did a decent job with it's newer take on Jonathan Kent and it's introduction of Lara. The Eradicator scenes packed enough of a punch along with Kara's sacrifice. This season has been so good.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "The Ex Games"

Good Lex (re Superman): "Did everyone know this but me? I regret not listening to Superman when I had the chance."

If you ignored the trailer for this episode, I guess it was still a little surprising that it was Mxyzptlk who actually kidnapped Clark, Lois, Jimmy and Kara at the end of the previous episode. His motives though were even more surprising.

It turned out that Mxyzptlk was getting divorced from Ms. Gsptlsnz and the former couple wanted to use our gang, plus their alternatives (swap out Superman for Good Lex) to play a series of games in order to see which imp would comd out on top.

Having the gang face their counterparts was a good way of getting some self reflection. Lois faced up to her own insecurities and there was some further movement on the whole Jimmy/Kara story that's made up their screen time this season.

The most amusing part was seeing Clark and Good Lex interact. The latter's reaction upon realising that Clark was Superman was a highlight in the episode. This episode also seemed to turn a corner on Clark accepting his humanity while using his wits to defeat Mxyptlk for good.

Then there's the last scene. Lois and Clark got a tender moment and it's interrupted by a returning Jon and a young woman. I'm guessing the woman's meant to be Lara Kent but nothing has confirmed that as of yet.

- There was no need for Clark and company to be Baywatch ready but it kind of worked.

- The Cosmic Anvil was a device that both Mxyptlk and Gsptlsnz were competing for in order to reshape the universe.

- The Hell Hippos were more cute than menacing. They did make for good treats.

- Chronology: From where the previous episode left off.

The Ex Games had a good idea and ran with it pretty well. The games were fun, Mxyptlk and his wife made for good antagonists and the last scene was a good set up.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "Party Animals"

Princess Maru (to the audience): "You may call me Doctor Poison."

Is there a reason why two of the six episodes we've had so far this season have had Wonder Woman villains as the main threat? I'm not entirely complaining but it's an odd choice, yes? It's made even order with the lack of reference to Wonder Woman herself.

This time around, it was the Princess Maru, aka Dr. Poison herself that was the main threat. She appeared as Jimmy Olsen's date at a gala where Jimmy, Lois and Kara were nominated for awards. However due to a younger audience, Maru got a different modus operandi.

Instead of actually poisoning people with her purple gas, Maru ended up turning everyone into different animals. Why are we giving Maru the very thing that Circe is known for? It's another odd choice, though needless to say, Maru ended up becoming a victim of her own gas itself.

Then there's a look into Jimmy and Kara. They've spent the last few episodes making each other jealous and this episode brought that to the boil. Both finally admitted they had feelings for one another and both ended up being captured along with Lois and Clark.

The Lois and Clark scenes had the latter desperately trying to find a purpose now that he's no longer Superman. He couldn't and that led to a lot of frustration. Then that cliffhanger happened. It's almost too bad the trailer for the next episode spoiled who captured the team.

- Bizarro as an ice cream vendor was rather cute. He even a child a free ice cream and wanted to help Supergirl. 

- Both Vicki Vale and Silver St. Cloud returned as did Flip and her gang.

- Both Lois and Maru were turned into cats while Jimmy became a turtle and retained his hair.

- Chronology: Clark has lost his powers for a whole month.

Party Animals was a fun debut for Dr. Poison with some gala filled chaos. I'm glad they gave sorted out the Jimmy and Kara plotline. Now we just need Clark to get his powers back.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "The Death Of Superman"

Lex (to Jon): "I hear you're trying to travel back to the past. That really doesn't work for me. Where would you even get an idea like that?"

I'm never going to get a Superman media that won't do this story, huh? This episode kind of subverted the idea with consequences. It also turned out that, future wise, Jon Kent cannot catch a break.

In this present day scenario, Hank Henshaw went on the mother of all rampages in his quest to actually kill Superman. Hank was also rather keen to kill Supergirl and Superboy and almost came close to taking all three out.

In between the big fights moments, Jon brought everyone up to speed on the future he came from. Both Superman and Lois dead. Supergirl raising him until he died. Doctor Luthor being the one to help him. It was a lot for Superman, Supergirl and Lois to take in. 

The big battles itself were the best the show has accomplished so far. It really felt like Cyborg Superman was going to annihilate all three heroes until things took a rather tragic turn for him. On top of that, Superman just lost his powers and Superboy had to go back to his own timeline.

Speaking of timelines, it turned out that things could definitely get worse. Instead of Cyborg Superman devastating the world, try a mashup of Lex Luthor/Brainiac and Eradicators. Yet again, another episode ending on one hell of a cliffhanger. This season isn't pulling it's punches.

- Lois got to punch Lex, much to Slade's delight. Lex challenged her on being Superman's girlfriend.

- Kara being the one to train Jon led to some rather cute flashbacks between the two. Kara thought Jon hated her when the truth was the exact opposite.

- I liked the changing of the title card for this episode. It worked in highlighting the more serious tone here.

- Chronology: Stopping Cyborg Superman led to a worse future where Jon is called Jonathan Lane. 

The Death Of Superman has been done so many, many times but I did genuinely like this take on the idea. How long will Superman go without his powers? Is this future going to be resolved quickly or will it play out for the remainder of the season? It's gotta be the latter.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "Guess Who's Slammin' To Dinner?"

Lois (to Jon): "Why are you here?"

With ten episodes per season, I do enjoy that this show will not waste time. After briefly meeting him last week, Jon Kent showed up in his past/our present to make himself known to his parents.

Anyone else might have chosen discretion upon trying to prevent the deaths of their parents but Jon went for the direct approach. E interrupted Clark and Lois's dinner date by being a hyperactive bundle and seemed delighted to also meet his Aunt Kara and Uncle Jimmy.

While Clark, Jimmy and Kara all took to Jon instantly, Lois didn't. She was wary of him and the implications of his existence dictating her destiny. Lois's reaction was the most realistic to Jon's presence and she rightly asked why he was there. Lois was pretty shocked when Jon was too forthcoming with the information. Cyborg Superman will kill both Superman and Lois.

Focusing on Superboy here, I'm impressed the show just both version. Aesthetic wise, he looks like Conner Kent but he's Superman and Lois's son, so he's Jon Kent. Given how LGBT friendly this show has been, I'm guessing this version might be gay or bisexual too.

Going back to Cyborg Superman, I knew that Hank Henshaw was going to go against Lex Luthor and I liked that they just had it happen right here. There was something comical in the way that Slade just sat back and let Hank escape. He didn't want to help Lex one bit.

- There's a nice subplot with the Subterranosauri and Prince Tyrannko. Jon managed to bring two species into a peace treaty.

- Jon might have his dad's powers but he's got his mother's inquisitive nature, food tastes and mannerisms.

- Kara's dating profile app actually broke. How much longer will Jimmy go on bad dates because he won't ask her out?

- Chronology: Not long from the previous episode.

Guess Who's Slammin' To Dinner? was a delightful episode. The addition of this version of Superboy has turned out well so far and Darren Criss (who was Superman not so long ago, animation wise) was on great form here.

DCU Blog - June 2026 Edition: Supergirl Crashes, New Animated Shows And More

And we're halfway through 2026. This month sadly has been something of a mixed bag in terms of DC News but we move.

Let's get the bad news out of the way first - Supergirl (2026) has only grossed $63 million at the box office, making it one of the bigger losses for the WB this year.

It seems that the next DC film to possibly go into production could be the Deathstroke And Bane movie.

Spoiler hounds are arguing among themselves in regards to whether or not the DCU Batman has been cast.

Ana Nogueira has recently talked of developments for both her Wonder Woman and Teen Titans scripts.

Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027) is currently half way through filming with some recent set pics of David Corenswet and Nicholas Holt having leaked.

Batman: Caped Crusader will be released on Amazon Prime from July 29th. Expect villains such as Riddler, Man-Bat and a female version of Mad Hatter.

A trailer for Batman: Knightfall Part 1 has been released. The movie will be released later in the year.

A synopsis for the animated Dynamic Duo (June 28th 2028) revealed that Dick and Jason will split when the former joins Batman and the latter joins the Red Hood Gang.

After an eternity, The Batman Part II (October 1st 2027) has started filming. 

Both James Gunn and John Cena have hinted about when Peacemaker will resurface in the DCU. Something tells me it's a lot sooner than expected.

Clayface (October 23rd 2026) is approximately one hour and fifty minutes according to recent test screenings. It doesn't feature Batman as of now.

David Jenkins has recently turned in the script for Booster Gold. It has yet to be greenlit.

Animated shows for Absolute Batman, Joker: Laugh Riot and Krypto have been announced.

My Adventures With Superman doesn't have a fourth season announcement as of yet. Season 3 is currently airing weekly.

Expect announcements for both Creature Commandos Season 2 and Mister Miracle very soon.

Filming for the Jimmy Olsen/Gorilla Grodd HBO Max series will start after filming of Man Of Tomorrow has completed. They're looking for actors from a comedy background for Grodd and one of the main roles will be for a lawyer.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "All's Fair In Love And W.O.R.M.S."

Giganta (to Jimmy): "My friends call me Gigi but you call me Giganta."

Why are we getting a prominent Wonder Woman villain in an episode and not even having a reference to Diana herself? It's a valid concern, right? Anyways, hello Gigi.

Jimmy Olsen took a huge chunk of the story this week and all because Kara decided to take his advice about exploring her options as a single woman. This meant Jimmy throwing his lot in with W.O.R.M.S. (World Organization for Romantic Matchmaking Science), which was ran by Zazzala and Tazzala respectively.

Anyways, Jimmy's exploits into this particular dating field had him mostly paired with Giganta. For some reason, she turned him into a wolf and when he was cured, he developed spaghetti arms and then when he was properly cured, Giganta decided to recreate that one scene everyone knows from King Kong until Superman and Zazzala/Tazzala saved the day.

Elsewhere, Kara was having the time of her life being in such demand on another dating app while discovering the joys of a mall. Lois spent most of the episode being anxious about the way her relationship with Clark has progressed. There's also a musical number that didn't quite land.

Of course the biggest shocker of the episode was the future trip. Yup, another alien invasion in Metropolis but where's Superman? Dead seemingly. Saying that, there's a bald Lex Luthor trying to do the right thing by sending Superboy (Darren Criss) back in time to prevent the disaster they're living in.

- Lois was a fan of Black Canary's music, which Supergirl discovered.

- Clark trying to work on his model farm was cute. We saw a Krypto looking dog.

- Cyborg Superman's hero career was over after his altercation with Silver Banshee backfired on him.

- Chronology: Shortly after the events of the second episode.

All's Fair In Love And W.O.R.M.S was a pretty solid episode overall with the last scene really setting up the events for the rest of the season.

My Review of Supergirl (2026)

Supergirl: "Here's the thing. My cousin and I have very different ideas about what it means to be a hero. He sees the good in everyone and I see the truth."

Oh, DC - what to do with you? You came out swinging last year with Superman (2025) amid a petulant hate campaign and sadly, it seems that Supergirl (2026) fell victim to an even more mean spirited one. Is this the end of the DCU? Of course it isn't. 

Now I'm not gonna pretend that this isn't a movie without it's flaws and I'll delve into them during the review. In the comic book world, Tom King's a divisive writer but his miniseries Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow was one of the few things that DC fans seem to like. I can see why it was chosen as a potential adaptation.

Having already met Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl (Milly Alcock) in her cousin's movie, her solo adventure focused on her going from planet to planet getting drunk. It's also Kara's 23rd birthday and aside from Krypto and her well meaning cousin, Superman (David Corenswet), Kara's basically got nobody. Then she's roped into the big story itself.

Let's throw in Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley). The poor girl had to witness her parents being murdered by Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts) and she naturally wanted revenge. This was something that Kara wanted no part in but then Krypto got poisoned and had three days to live and the antidote was on the Brigands person. Those reasons alone were enough for Kara and Ruthye to team up.

Putting the source material to one side, when watching this movie yesterday I was reminded of Birds Of Prey (2020). In some aspects, the dynamic between Kara and Ruthye wasn't that dissimilar to Harley Quinn and Cassandra Cain. It's a slightly gentler version with Kara opening up about her life on Krypton, her parents and the differences between herself and her famous cousin.

Anyways as Kara and Ruthye ventured through different planets in order to get to Krem and his cohorts, there was also the presence of intergalactic bounty hunter, Lobo (Jason Momoa) himself. He's only in a handful of scenes, was moderately helpful to Kara and Ruthye and Momoa was well within his comfort zone, performance wise. Lobo's inclusion felt like a set up for an inevitable future solo project of his to be announced.

With most comic book movies, the third act was something of a mixed bag. There's a subplot involving human trafficking and changes made to Krem's character to give him more context. Krem wasn't a particularly compelling baddie to watch but at least Ruthye got closure, Krypto got cured (was there ever a doubt?) and Kara did what was necessary to stop Krem and his crew.

As for Superman and the Krypton scenes. I liked how they were spread out throughout the movie and I'd argue they're handled well here. Kara's parents Zor-El (David Krumholtz) and Alura In-Ze (Emily Beecham) were written as good people and there's a nice backstory for Krypto. Kara's scenes with Superman were some of the best in the movie, especially the final scene between cousins. I love their rapport so much.

- For the first time in a while, there are no mid or post credit scenes and honestly, they're not missed here.

- Seth Rogan had an uncredited role as a small alien that Kara met on the space bus. There was a lot of different aliens in the movie, including Sklarian Raiders.

- We had to wait until the third act for Kara to don her Supergirl costume. She used a lot of martial arts and got shot with Kryptonite as well.

- There's a few changes made to the source material, some being more noticeable than others. Most were fine tbh.

- Standout music: Claudia Sarne did good with the score and other than that, there's Cheek To Cheek by Ella Fitzgerald and Catch These Fists by Wet Legs.

- Chronology: Kara turned 23 and one of the many planets she visited was named Bilquis, after the artist of the source material. We also saw Krypton, Argo City and Metropolis.

Supergirl (2026) might not hit the same way that her more famous cousin's movie did a year ago but I'll side eye the hell out of anyone who'd claim this to be a bad movie. It's not bad in the slightest. As an adaptation to an acclaimed comic book miniseries, it's mostly faithful to the source material. The colour palette's a bit too drab and Krem isn't an interesting baddie but Milly Alcock has proved to be fantastic casting as Supergirl.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "Mobile Suit Toyman"

Whip: "Your low income is real turnoff, Superman!"

Superman: "I am not discussing my personal finances with a super-villain."

Okay, this was an episode that had our Kryptonian duo put through their paces. Superman got the workout from a minor villain and Supergirl had more of an emotional turmoil to work through.

I'll go with Supergirl first. She's got feelings for Jimmy and while he clearly has feelings for her, Jimmy also encouraged Kara to keep her options open. Unfortunately for Jimmy, Kara's not short of admirers whatsoever.

Then there's the Super-Fest panel being moderated by Cat Grant. Cat certainly had a way of making Kara feel like she had no purpose. Fortunately for Kara, a young woman named Jessica Cruz (Auli'l Cravalho) was able to give Kara the much needed pep talk that she needed to hear.

As for Superman, he got to tangle with a low level criminal named Whip. I say low level but she also had access to Kryptonite and had problems using it to cause Superman much distress. Of course she was more annoyed by his financial status and altruism before Superman eventually got the better of her.

Last but not least, there was Lois Lane. She wasn't her best here but she managed to recognise that Toyman hadn't reformed and she pretty much goaded him into using his new suit. Toyman's actions also served as a way for Lex Luthor to get great publicity for Cyborg Superman. Lex certainly took everyone by surprise this week with that stunt of his.

- Jimmy's comic Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen had a villain version of Lois and didn't seem to impress Lex either.

- Jessica Cruz will be headlining her own spin-off, My Adventures With Green Lantern. Supergirl also "kidnapped" the actors from Challengers Of The Unknown for a brief moment.

- Bizarro cosplayed as Superman during Super-Fest. There were cosplayers for Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy as well.

- Chronology: Not long since the previous episode.

Mobile Suit Toyman was a strong second episode for both the Superman and Supergirl plots as well as Lex blind sighting everyone. Lois and Jimmy's scenes were a bit weaker but not by much.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "Into The New World"

Superman (to Bizarro): "Your choice will change the future in ways you and I can't imagine."

It's been two years since the second season finale and with the possibility that the show might not get a fourth season, this opening episode certainly kicked off a bit of a mission statement.

First of all, we've got a really lovely Core Four with Superman, Supergirl, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. I mean we had that since last season but it's very apparent in this opening episode and it was a nice way of freshening up the show's dynamic. 

Throw in a nice Halloween subplot and the return of Sam Lane, the crux of this episode focused on Project Calliban. It brought our Core Four together to investigate and it also introduced us to Bizarro. 

As a character, Bizarro has been tackled a lot in recent years with each version going for the sympathetic route. This show will be no different in that regard with Superman and Bizarro even teaming up against other baddies during the big scuffle.

Now what about Lex Luthor? Last time he threw his lot in with Amanda Waller and Slade Wilson. During the final scene of this episode we were getting the origin of Cyborg Superman as Lex found a use for the badly wounded and barely alive Hank Henshaw.

- Supergirl got taunted by Brainiac over her new perspective and there was the use of Dr George Otto Binder who raised Brainiac with love.

- Both Jimmy and Kara dressed as characters from Challengers Of The Unknown. Clark really liked Halloween.

- Both Superman and Supergirl got costume upgraded and the opening credits were also upgraded.

- Chronology: A while since the events of the second season.

Into The New World was a good opening episode. The Core Four dynamic worked very well and I really liked the use of Bizarro and set up for Cyborg Superman.

DCU Blog - May 2026 Edition: The Batman Pt II Casting, Super Summer Mark 2

Yup, this month certainly delivered on the front of casting news, among other things. Without further ado, let's get into it.

In addition to Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan, The Batman Part II (October 1st 2027) has added Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch to the cast. Dance will play Christopher Dent.

James Gunn confirmed on Threads that between General Zod, Doomsday, Doctor Fate, Black Adam, Ultraman and Darkseid that two of them will be showing up in the DCU soon.

Tom King has been hyping the casting for his upcoming Mister Miracle animated show. Casting should be revealed soon enough.

As of now, there are no directors being talked to about Teen Titans.

Matthew Lillard has joined the cast of Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027) in an undisclosed role. Sinqua Walls has also been cast.

Volker Bertelmann will score Clayface (October 23rd 2026).

Greg Mottolo is seemingly in the mix to direct the Deathstroke And Bane movie, which has yet to be officially greenlit.

The arrival of Supergirl (June 26th) is close and we've been getting plenty of TV spots and interviews from Milly Alcock herself. She'll reprise the role in Man Of Tomorrow.

Absolute Wonder Woman has concluded it's current arc and is now moving into a new one with Barbara Minerva becoming the latest Cheetah.

Nicole Maines will be writing this year's DC Pride titled Justice League: Dream Girls - A DC Pride Event. The four part series will be released throughout the month of June.

Darren Criss will voice the role of Superboy for the third season of My Adventures With Superman, which premieres on Adult Swim from June 13th. Jessica Cruz will also feature.

Lanterns has officially been confirmed for August 16th on HBO with the latest trailer also confirming Laura Linney's casting. Chris Cantwell has been hired for the second season.

DC Animation/Warner Brothers will premiere Knightfall at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival among upcoming DC animated shows.

The second season of Creature Commandos will premiere on HBO Max after Man Of Tomorrow. The first episode is titled Starry Night.

DCU Blog - April 2026 Edition: Clayface Trailer, Lanterns Airdate And Major Casting News

Well, April turned out to be one hell of a month for DC fans. There really was so much going on.

Adria Arjona has joined the cast of Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027) but is she playing Maxima or Wonder Woman? Time will tell on that one. Filming has now begun on the Superman (2025) sequel. Andre Royo has also been cast in an undisclosed role.

Charles Dance has been cast as Christopher Dent for The Batman - Part II (October 1st 2027). Filming starts from June in London.

James Gunn has recently confirmed not to expect The Authority any time soon, due to the script not working out.

Season 3 of My Adventures With Superman will premiere at midnight from June 13th on Adult Swim's Toonami with a next day release on HBO Max.

Supergirl (June 26th 2026) got her flowers at both CinemaCon and CCXP Mexico this month. Both Milly Alcock and Craig Gillespie were promoting the movie at both events.

We will be seeing more of Sean Gunn's Maxwell Lord in future DCU projects. I imagine that'll be sooner than later.

James Gunn has also stated after filming for Man Of Tomorrow is complete, he'll discuss what is and isn't canon from The Suicide Squad and Blue Beetle in relation to the DCU. 

The first trailer for Clayface (October 23rd 2026) has been watched by over 11 millions views on YouTube so far. The movie will be set before the events of Superman (2025).

Funko Pops will be released for John Constantine, Midnighter, Apollo and Dreamer to commence with Pride Month.

Correction from last month but Dark Knights Of Steel will be released from July.

Lanterns will seemingly air on HBO from August 16th. The trailer is currently down.

Both Booster Gold and Paradise Lost are still in development with the latter being in extreme development.

Sidney Chandler is rumoured to be cast as Nosferata for the second season of Creature Commandos.

The fourth episode of the Krypto show is now available on YouTube.

DCU Blog - March 2026 Edition: Supergirl Promo, Lanterns Trailer And More

We're a quarter into 2026 and the DC news has been a little sparse but we did get some good bits this month.

Later today will see the release of a new trailer for Supergirl (June 26th). David Corenswet's Superman is confirmed to feature in it. Claudia Sarne is now the composer.

Filming for Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027) will begin in three weeks in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Aaron Pierre will reprise his role as John Stewart in Man Of Tomorrow. An actress has also been rumoured to play Maxima in the movie. Eva de Dominic is the rumoured actress.

Paramount's deal to acquire Warner Brothers will be decided next month. It might not even happen.

Robert Pattinson has talked about The Batman - Part II (October 1st 2027) taking some big swings. Filming will start during the end of May in the UK.

Ruby Sear has been cast in an undisclosed role for Clayface (October 23rd). A trailer is likely to appear at CinemaCon next month. The WB panel will be on April 14th from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have written a movie for The Flash for the DCU but it hasn't been picked up.

Peacemaker won Best Superhero TV Series at the Saturn Awards.

The first trailer for HBO's Lanterns was released. The show will air from August on the cable channel.

Fans of the Absolute Batman series will be seeing Two Face in an upcoming issue while Absolute Wonder Woman will debut a new Cheetah in the next arc.

David Jenkins has confirmed once again that he's still the show runner for the upcoming Booster Gold show.

Superman worldwide collection now stands at $624.3 million.

A casting announcement for the Mister Miracle animated show from Tom King is on the way. It'll air on HBO Max.

The Jimmy Olsen show will be a crime mystery comedy according to co-showrunner Dan Perrault.

Freddie Stroma has confirmed that he doesn't know when he'll return as Vigilante in the DCU.

The 2026 DC Pride will be released in June and will factor in a Justice League: Dream Girls event. June will also see the release of the Dark Knights Of Steel sequel series.

My Review of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010)

Kara: "Little nervous, I guess. It's just, you have this life. You can be Clark, or Kal-El, or Superman. Even a son. Who am I going to be?"

Clark: "I can't answer that, Kara. Only you can. Whatever you decide, I'll be there for you. I promise."

Yesterday I reviewed Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, so of course the follow up was going to be next. Though I should say this movie was more focused on Supergirl (Summer Glau) and that's not a bad thing.

Supergirl's ship crash landed in Gotham City River and she caused a commotion in the city until Batman (Kevin Conroy) managed to detain her and Superman (Tim Daly) made his presence known to her. Not surprising was Superman being nicer to his cousin than Batman himself.

In the first half of the movie, Kara struggled with controlling her powers, was at odds with both Batman and Krypto, embraced certain aspects of posing as a human girl and even was overwhelmed with how Superman was seen by the public. Then the Amazons led by Wonder Woman (Susan Eisenberg) felt she needed better training.

Sending Kara to Themyscira was the wisest move. She was starting to get her powers under control and even befriended Lyla/Harbinger (Rachel Quaintance). The latter had visions of Kara being in danger and sure enough, Darkseid (Andre Braugher) being interested in a new captain for his Furies made that clear.

The second half of this movie definitely was the highlight. We had Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman join up with Big Barda (Julianne Grossman) to rescue Kara from Apokolips. There's a great battle with Wonder Woman and Big Barda having to take on the likes of Granny Goodness (Ed Asner), Gilotina/Mad Harriet (Salli Saffioti), Stompa (Andrea Romano) and Lashina (Tara Strong). It's a rather brutal sequence.

Also brutal was Batman finding a way into manipulating Darkseid to relinquish his hols on Kara while the latter temporarily went against her cousin. Add a follow up battle with super cousins and Kara realised exactly what her destiny was supposed to be.

- Lex has officially been impeached and Gotham had security blimps flying over the city.

- Artemis went from being annoyed with Superman to having some respect for him during the fight with the Doomsday clones.

- We heard Vicki Vale, saw the Mister Miracle costume and Treasure was quickly defeated by the Furies.

- Chronology: Gotham City, Metropolis, Krypton, Apokolips, Themyscira and Smallville.

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse was even better than the previous movie. The focus on Supergirl was a good move for this sequel and Darkseid/Furies were also used really well. I really enjoyed this sequel.

DCU Blog - February 2026 Edition: WB/Paramount, Puppy Bowl And Little Else

Disappointingly enough, this wasn't the most eventful month for DC, except for maybe the future implication of a newly announced merger. Anyways, let's get on with it, shall we?

Warners Brothers have been bought by Paramount for $111 billion after Netflix decided to step aside and not match their offer.

Clayface will now be released on October 23rd. David Dencik has also been cast in an undisclosed role.

Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027) is in pre-production. Filming will begin in April, so expect more cast announcements soon.

The recent Puppy Bowl put the focus on Krypto, including a clip from Supergirl (June 26th) showing a younger version of the character.

Junkie XL will now compose the music for Supergirl. He's previously composed Zack Snyder's Justice League.

The Batman - Part II (October 1st 2027) will start filming in late May. We'll be getting more casting soon.

The logo for upcoming HBO series, Lanterns was revealed this month. The show will premiere after the third season of House Of The Dragon has finished airing.

James Gunn has stated that The Brave And The Bold will come out before Matt Reeves does a third movie for The Batman universe.

DC Next Level will see releases for the likes of Zatanna, Batwoman, Lobo and Firestorm to name a few over the next few months.

The Absolute DC Universe comic books have continued to sell well, have warranted several reprints and will continue well into 2026.

Zack Snyder has recently expressed interest in continuing his Justice League through comics or animation. That's not saying it'll happen btw.

Quick reminder that we've got upcoming season of both of My Adventures With Superman and Batman: Caped Crusader to look forward to. Hopefully we'll get release dates for both in the next few weeks.

DCU Blog - January 2026 Edition: TBII/MOT Update, Lobo Spotlight And More Blue Beetle

As we reach the last day of January, the DCU certainly provided some tantalising information about upcoming projects. Let's dive right in.

Sebastian Stan has been cast for The Batman - Part II (October 1st 2027). It's rumoured that he'll be playing Harvey Dent. Filming begins in April.

Cristin Milioti has confirmed that Sofia Falcone won't be returning for The Batman - Part II. 

Superman (2025) and Peacemaker have been nominated for Saturn Awards. The former bagged eight nominations while the latter got three nods.

Superman and Spider-Man will share an upcoming crossover in their respective comics.

Christina Hodson has been confirmed as the writer for The Brave And The Bold. This reunites her with Andy Muschietti as the two previously worked on The Flash for the DCEU.

Ana Nogueira could also be reuniting with Craig Gillespie for Wonder Woman, depending on the success of Supergirl.

Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027) will introduce the character, Maxima. Expect casting news soon.

A recent spotlight for Supergirl (June 26th 2026) focused on Jason Momoa's Lobo.

Diarmaid Murtagh will be playing a space pirate in Supergirl. Krem will lead a bad of space pirate/human traffickers in the movie.

Lanterns star Kyle Chandler recently talked about his experience working on the show on Today. The show will premiere on HBO late summer.

Angel Manuel Soto has confirmed that we will see Blue Beetle and his family soon in the DCU. We still need progress on that animated show.

Filming for the Jimmy Olsen spin-off will take place around the same that Man Of Tomorrow will start filming.

The Mister Miracle animated series will take place in the DCU and will see the debut of Darkseid.

Hamish Linklater has confirmed that Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader will be released on Amazon Prime this year.

A good start for information in the first month of 2026. I'm expecting bigger casting news over the next few months.

DCU Blog - December 2025 Edition: TBII/MOT Major Casting, Supergirl Promo Begins

And to end this year for DC fans, we've got a slew of exciting information. Assuming nothing else gets announced before tomorrow night.

Scarlett Johansson has been cast in an undisclosed role for The Batman - Part II (October 1st 2027). She'll film her role after working on Mike Flanagan's upcoming The Exorcist movie. Filming begins in May.

Clayface (September 11th 2026) will feature Batman in some capacity.

The Brave And The Bold is still currently being written and Andy Muschietti is still attached as director and we still don't have an actor for DCU Batman.

Recent rumours have indicated that Ana Nogueira was told to prioritise Wonder Woman script over Teen Titans. Fingers crossed that casting is imminent.

Lars Eidinger has been cast as Brainiac for Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027). A female warrior is also being cast. Filming begins from April 2026.

Superman (2025) is on the shortlist for Best Visuals at the Oscars.

DC Super Powers will feature Guy Gardner, Tula, Jessie Quick's Flash, Terra as well as Martian Manhunter and Mr Terrific.

The first trailer for Supergirl (June 26th 2026) was released this month. Seth Rogan has also been cast in a role while David Corenswet's Superman will also appear. Ramin Djawadi will score the movie.

Superman (2025), Peacemaker and Harley Quinn (HBO Max) have all been nominated for Critics Choice Awards.

Although not officially confirmed, we should be getting upcoming seasons of both Batman: Caped Crusader and My Adventures With Superman in 2026.

Captain Atom will appear in the second season of Creature Commandos. James Gunn won't be writing for the show.

HBO recently showed clips of Lanterns when promoting their 2026 slate of shows. A release date will confirmed in due course.

The Jimmy Olsen spin-off will begin filming shortly after the completion of Man Of Tomorrow.

For now, it appears that Netflix have won the battle for Warner Brothers. James Gunn and Peter Safran have had their contracts extended.

DCU Blog - November 2025 Edition: Super Family Expands, CCXP Time

Into the penultimate round up of DC news for the month and it's certainly circling around one particular part of the DC Universe.

James Gunn continues to give some brief hints on Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027). Though not officially confirmed, it does appear that Brainiac will be the main villain for this follow up.

Superman (2025) however has made over $100 million in profit, including home releases as well. It's also being submitted for both the Golden Globes and Oscars.

Swaybox Studios held auditions for Dynamic Duo (June 30th 2028) on November 15th.

Alan Ritchson has confirmed that he's in talks for a "messier" DCU role.

Supergirl (June 26th 2026) will have a presence at CCXP from December 6th. A trailer is rumoured to be released at the event. Ferdinand Kingsley has been cast as Ruthye's father for the movie.

Filming for Clayface (September 11th 2026) has finished up. Mike Flanagan again pointed out that his script was influenced by Batman: The Animated Series.

Peacemaker Season 2 finally managed to chart on Nielson, due to the finale.

Matt Reeves has tapped Luke Hall for production design for The Batman - Part II (October 1st 2027). Casting news should be soon.

A HBO Max podcast crime series Jimmy Olsen themed spin-off is currently in the works. Skyler Gisondo will reprise the role for the show, which will have Gorilla Grodd as a central threat. The duo behind American Vandal are tackling the show.

A V For Vendetta show is also in development for HBO, though it may be an Elseworlds series. Pete Jackson will take on the show.

More shorts for Krypto have been released on YouTube. I need to catch up with them.

The DC Absolute Universe will have more crossovers next year, including Batman and Wonder Woman facing off.

HBO will air Lanterns, starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre in the latter half of 2026. Late summer release.

Netflix, Comcast/Universal and Paramount are the current bidders to acquire Warner Brothers. We should know in 2026 how this will impact DC Studios.

Brendan Fraser recently talked about his disappointment over Batgirl being unreleased. He played Firefly in that movie.

As of yet, no new development on Wonder Woman for the DCU. Hopefully something's coming very soon.

DCU Blog - October 2025 Edition: MOT & TBPtII Updates, Supergirl Reshoots And More

It's nearly Halloween and October is almost at an end. Here's an update on what's been going on in the world of the DCU this month.

As of now, James Gunn's still working on the script for Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027). A recent description for a character seems to suggest either Brainiac or Mongul as the main villain.

Colin Farrell has recently discussed both The Batman - Part II (October 1st 2027) and the now scrapped Sgt. Rock movie he was going to star in.

Warner Brothers is up for sale again and will be purchase by someone in 2026. As of now, they've currently rejected an offer from Paramount.

The Batman - Part II will take place a few weeks after the events of The Penguin.

Reshoots for Supergirl (June 26th 2026) are underway. It's also been confirmed the movie will be faithful to the source material.

Andy and Barbara Muschietti have confirmed they will have to wait a few months before they can talk about The Brave And The Bold. 

DC Studios have recruited Jock for the upcoming Dynamic Duo (June 30th 2028) animated movie.

Batman: Knightfall will be a four part animated movie, with the first part to be released in 2026.

Clayface (September 11th 2026), starring Tom Rhys Harries in the title role will finish filming this week.

James Gunn has confirmed that there are no plans for a third season of Peacemaker.

James Gunn also has had discussions with Keanu Reeves about a Constantine sequel but no script has been greenlit as of now.

Despite his current deal with Paramount, James Mangold is still interested in making a Swamp Thing movie for DC Studios.

The Bat-Fam animated series will premiere on Amazon Prime from November 10th.

No release date for Lanterns has been confirmed yet but a recent image did confirm Nathan Fillion's involvement as Guy Gardner in the show.

A Strange Adventures TV series is in development, though this has yet to be officially confirmed. 

In terms of comics, both Wonder Woman and Batman will crossover in their Absolute universes. Zatanna will also have a major in the Wonder Woman side of things.

DCU Blog - August 2025 Edition: Superman Follow Up Confirmed, Project Updates And Clayface Filming

It's been a month since Superman hit theatres and less than a fortnight since the start of Peacemaker. It's been another busy month for DC fans.

As of now, Superman (2025) has made over 611 million at the box office and went to digital on August 15th to purchase.

Both David Zaslav and James Gunn have confirmed that the latter will write and direct the follow up and it could be going into production sooner than expected.

Test screenings for Supergirl (June 26th 2026) have been positive. A trailer likely won't appear for another few months. 

Jeffrey Wright and Colin Farrell have both admitted to seeing the script for The Batman - Part II (October 1st 2027) recently. Filming will start next year. There's a rumour Zoe Kravitz might not be in this movie.

Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan have joined the cast of Clayface (September 11th 2026). Filming starts tomorrow in the UK.

James Gunn has admitted that things are going well for The Brave And The Bold, Wonder Woman, Paradise Lost and Booster Gold. Waller is still happening, despite moving slower.

The Krypto shorts (the first was released this month) are not canon to the DCU.

Kyle Rayner and Nikki Jones will factor in the upcoming My Adventures With Green Lantern animated series. Jessica Cruz will lead the show.

The second season premiere of Peacemaker (HBO Max) saw a 22% rise in viewers. There's also been hints of big cameos in the final three episodes, which have not been shown to the media.

Cary Christopher, Paula Patton and Laura Linney have been cast in undisclosed roles for the upcoming HBO series, Lanterns.

Other characters teaming up in the upcoming Batman/Deadpool book include John Constantine/Doctor Strange and Harley Quinn/The Hulk to name a few.

James Gunn has confirmed that another TV show that no one knew about will be one of the next things to film.

Margot Robbie has been asked recently about her future as Harley Quinn, last seen in The Suicide Squad. Right now, we're still none the wiser if she'll reprise the role in the DCU.

George Newborn has recently confirmed that Injustice 3 is happening.

A trailer for Lego Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight game was released this month.

Lauren LeFranc has signed a deal with HBO and there's been some talks about a potential second season of The Penguin.
