My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "The Return"

Lois: "Marry me, Clark Kent."

Clark: "Of course, Lois Lane."

Was this another finale or a series finale? Right now and like a few DC animated shows, this has yet to be renewed for a fourth season. I do hope it gets one. This season alone turned out to be so good.

Picking up from the last episode, we've got Jonathan, Lara and Kara doing their best to stop the Eradicator. Unfortunately the latter was able to multiply himself, which did make it a lot harder for the trio to keep him down.

On the other hand, there was also Clark still being powerless. His demonstration of compassion with Bizarro was enough to get the Head Steward to show Clark a solution. Yup, you've got living sun Rao and let's just say that Superman came back in glorious form.

The last few minutes against the Eradicator had a brilliant team up of Superman, his children, Supergirl and Bizarro all working together. Once again, Superman tried compassion but the Eradicator chose death over wanting to change for the better.

As for the last few minutes, I liked the family time Superman and Lois got with Jonathan and Lara before the latter two went back to their timeline. Then there was the proposal itself. It was a cute way to cap off the season.

- I liked that Lex/Jimmy had an understanding with each other and that Slade even let them work together. What did Lex see out in the stars?

- Kara agreed to be friends with Jimmy. We also got Krypto and Bizarro resumed his ice cream job.

- The white, blue and gold Kryptonian armour did look good on Superman but I hope it's not a permanent look for him.

- Chronology: From where the previous episode left off.

The Return was a good ending for this season of the show. It kind of works as a series finale but I think one last season would be a nice way to cap the series off altogether.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "Vae Victis"

Jonathan (to everyone): "Like I said. I am Superman."

On to the penultimate episode of the season, we've got two separate plots both fighting for the right amount of screen time. There's the one involving Superman and the one involving everyone else's.

Focusing on the latter one first, Jonathan spent a lot of this episode just getting it wrong. He's openly hostile and unhelpful when Lois tried to mobilise a plan and stop Amanda Waller from having total control of everything. 

I was hoping when a recovered Supergirl got him to come back that Jonathan might have learned to be a better team player. That went out the window when the Eradicator appeared and Jonathan overestimated his abilities. It did lead to a good cliff hanger though.

Then there's Clark and Bizarro. Brainiac had them both and there was something of a Krypton origin story thrown into the mix. Clark was put through a series of tests to prove his worth. This meant attacking the Coluans, which Clark didn't want to do.

It's a good plot that gave more history into Krypton while providing more context into Beainiac's descent into villainy. Saying that, we've got a finale to get to and we need Clark back as Superman pretty sharpish.

- There was nice scenes with Lois and Lara, who the former was able to bond with better than Jonathan.

- Kara and Jimmy had their own nice scenes in this one. 

- Amanda seemed to have a respect for Lois during their scenes and Jimmy even got through to Lex.

Vae Victis split it's time between two stories that were handled well enough. I do think that I preferred the Clark side of things in this one though.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "It's Reigning (Super) Men"

Lois: "So when we changed the future"

Clark: "We rewrote Jon's entire life."

Well, that was to be expected, wasn't it? Gone was the more cheerful Jon Kent and in his place, we have a more cynical version of the character. Oh and the woman with him turned out to be Lara Lane-Kent.

Lara's a little softer compared to Jonathan (which this version went by) but at the same time, she was also keen to complete the mission to kill Lex Luthor. Lois was shocked upon learning that her alternative self was the one to order to a hit on Lex. I guess Lois does take after Sam in another universe.

Lara and Jonathan went back to this time to kill Lex but also to stop the latter from successfully launching the Eradicator onto the general population. If anything their presence in the timeline caused the very thing they were trying to stop. The siblings duo made things worse here.

Their actions even caused a lot of severe damage to Kara. Despite her best efforts, Supergirl and her super powered niece and nephew weren't enough to take out the Eradicator. However the events of this episode have Clark a clue as to how he could get his powers back. For that, he needed the help of Bizarro.

Going back to the Fortress had Bizarro render Clark unconscious. This lead to a decent cliffhanger and I guess by the end of next week's episode, Superman will be fully restored. As for the Eradicator, it's amazing how quickly Lex lost control of it. Not even five minutes out of stasis and it had a mind of it's own.

- Amanda Waller and Slade both enjoyed putting Lex in his place throughout the whole episode. Waller even threatened to have LexCorp shut down.

- Jimmy and Kara are still in an awkward place with each other. Kara was pretty annoyed with him.

- They really did dress Jonathan and Lara as twins. I assumed they are twins in this continuity. They look about the same age.

It's Reigning (Super) Men did a decent job with it's newer take on Jonathan Kent and it's introduction of Lara. The Eradicator scenes packed enough of a punch along with Kara's sacrifice. This season has been so good.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "The Ex Games"

Good Lex (re Superman): "Did everyone know this but me? I regret not listening to Superman when I had the chance."

If you ignored the trailer for this episode, I guess it was still a little surprising that it was Mxyzptlk who actually kidnapped Clark, Lois, Jimmy and Kara at the end of the previous episode. His motives though were even more surprising.

It turned out that Mxyzptlk was getting divorced from Ms. Gsptlsnz and the former couple wanted to use our gang, plus their alternatives (swap out Superman for Good Lex) to play a series of games in order to see which imp would comd out on top.

Having the gang face their counterparts was a good way of getting some self reflection. Lois faced up to her own insecurities and there was some further movement on the whole Jimmy/Kara story that's made up their screen time this season.

The most amusing part was seeing Clark and Good Lex interact. The latter's reaction upon realising that Clark was Superman was a highlight in the episode. This episode also seemed to turn a corner on Clark accepting his humanity while using his wits to defeat Mxyptlk for good.

Then there's the last scene. Lois and Clark got a tender moment and it's interrupted by a returning Jon and a young woman. I'm guessing the woman's meant to be Lara Kent but nothing has confirmed that as of yet.

- There was no need for Clark and company to be Baywatch ready but it kind of worked.

- The Cosmic Anvil was a device that both Mxyptlk and Gsptlsnz were competing for in order to reshape the universe.

- The Hell Hippos were more cute than menacing. They did make for good treats.

The Ex Games had a good idea and ran with it pretty well. The games were fun, Mxyptlk and his wife made for good antagonists and the last scene was a good set up.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "Party Animals"

Princess Maru (to the audience): "You may call me Doctor Poison."

Is there a reason why two of the six episodes we've had so far this season have had Wonder Woman villains as the main threat? I'm not entirely complaining but it's an odd choice, yes? It's made even order with the lack of reference to Wonder Woman herself.

This time around, it was the Princess Maru, aka Dr. Poison herself that was the main threat. She appeared as Jimmy Olsen's date at a gala where Jimmy, Lois and Kara were nominated for awards. However due to a younger audience, Maru got a different modus operandi.

Instead of actually poisoning people with her purple gas, Maru ended up turning everyone into different animals. Why are we giving Maru the very thing that Circe is known for? It's another odd choice, though needless to say, Maru ended up becoming a victim of her own gas itself.

Then there's a look into Jimmy and Kara. They've spent the last few episodes making each other jealous and this episode brought that to the boil. Both finally admitted they had feelings for one another and both ended up being captured along with Lois and Clark.

The Lois and Clark scenes had the latter desperately trying to find a purpose now that he's no longer Superman. He couldn't and that led to a lot of frustration. Then that cliffhanger happened. It's almost too bad the trailer for the next episode spoiled who captured the team.

- Bizarro as an ice cream vendor was rather cute. He even a child a free ice cream and wanted to help Supergirl. 

- Both Vicki Vale and Silver St. Cloud returned as did Flip and her gang.

- Both Lois and Maru were turned into cats while Jimmy became a turtle and retained his hair.

- Chronology: Clark has lost his powers for a whole month.

Party Animals was a fun debut for Dr. Poison with some gala filled chaos. I'm glad they gave sorted out the Jimmy and Kara plotline. Now we just need Clark to get his powers back.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "The Death Of Superman"

Lex (to Jon): "I hear you're trying to travel back to the past. That really doesn't work for me. Where would you even get an idea like that?"

I'm never going to get a Superman media that won't do this story, huh? This episode kind of subverted the idea with consequences. It also turned out that, future wise, Jon Kent cannot catch a break.

In this present day scenario, Hank Henshaw went on the mother of all rampages in his quest to actually kill Superman. Hank was also rather keen to kill Supergirl and Superboy and almost came close to taking all three out.

In between the big fights moments, Jon brought everyone up to speed on the future he came from. Both Superman and Lois dead. Supergirl raising him until he died. Doctor Luthor being the one to help him. It was a lot for Superman, Supergirl and Lois to take in. 

The big battles itself were the best the show has accomplished so far. It really felt like Cyborg Superman was going to annihilate all three heroes until things took a rather tragic turn for him. On top of that, Superman just lost his powers and Superboy had to go back to his own timeline.

Speaking of timelines, it turned out that things could definitely get worse. Instead of Cyborg Superman devastating the world, try a mashup of Lex Luthor/Brainiac and Eradicators. Yet again, another episode ending on one hell of a cliffhanger. This season isn't pulling it's punches.

- Lois got to punch Lex, much to Slade's delight. Lex challenged her on being Superman's girlfriend.

- Kara being the one to train Jon led to some rather cute flashbacks between the two. Kara thought Jon hated her when the truth was the exact opposite.

- I liked the changing of the title card for this episode. It worked in highlighting the more serious tone here.

- Chronology: Stopping Cyborg Superman led to a worse future where Jon is called Jonathan Lane. 

The Death Of Superman has been done so many, many times but I did genuinely like this take on the idea. How long will Superman go without his powers? Is this future going to be resolved quickly or will it play out for the remainder of the season? It's gotta be the latter.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "Guess Who's Slammin' To Dinner?"

Lois (to Jon): "Why are you here?"

With ten episodes per season, I do enjoy that this show will not waste time. After briefly meeting him last week, Jon Kent showed up in his past/our present to make himself known to his parents.

Anyone else might have chosen discretion upon trying to prevent the deaths of their parents but Jon went for the direct approach. E interrupted Clark and Lois's dinner date by being a hyperactive bundle and seemed delighted to also meet his Aunt Kara and Uncle Jimmy.

While Clark, Jimmy and Kara all took to Jon instantly, Lois didn't. She was wary of him and the implications of his existence dictating her destiny. Lois's reaction was the most realistic to Jon's presence and she rightly asked why he was there. Lois was pretty shocked when Jon was too forthcoming with the information. Cyborg Superman will kill both Superman and Lois.

Focusing on Superboy here, I'm impressed the show just both version. Aesthetic wise, he looks like Conner Kent but he's Superman and Lois's son, so he's Jon Kent. Given how LGBT friendly this show has been, I'm guessing this version might be gay or bisexual too.

Going back to Cyborg Superman, I knew that Hank Henshaw was going to go against Lex Luthor and I liked that they just had it happen right here. There was something comical in the way that Slade just sat back and let Hank escape. He didn't want to help Lex one bit.

- There's a nice subplot with the Subterranosauri and Prince Tyrannko. Jon managed to bring two species into a peace treaty.

- Jon might have his dad's powers but he's got his mother's inquisitive nature, food tastes and mannerisms.

- Kara's dating profile app actually broke. How much longer will Jimmy go on bad dates because he won't ask her out?

- Chronology: Not long from the previous episode.

Guess Who's Slammin' To Dinner? was a delightful episode. The addition of this version of Superboy has turned out well so far and Darren Criss (who was Superman not so long ago, animation wise) was on great form here.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "All's Fair In Love And W.O.R.M.S."

Giganta (to Jimmy): "My friends call me Gigi but you call me Giganta."

Why are we getting a prominent Wonder Woman villain in an episode and not even having a reference to Diana herself? It's a valid concern, right? Anyways, hello Gigi.

Jimmy Olsen took a huge chunk of the story this week and all because Kara decided to take his advice about exploring her options as a single woman. This meant Jimmy throwing his lot in with W.O.R.M.S. (World Organization for Romantic Matchmaking Science), which was ran by Zazzala and Tazzala respectively.

Anyways, Jimmy's exploits into this particular dating field had him mostly paired with Giganta. For some reason, she turned him into a wolf and when he was cured, he developed spaghetti arms and then when he was properly cured, Giganta decided to recreate that one scene everyone knows from King Kong until Superman and Zazzala/Tazzala saved the day.

Elsewhere, Kara was having the time of her life being in such demand on another dating app while discovering the joys of a mall. Lois spent most of the episode being anxious about the way her relationship with Clark has progressed. There's also a musical number that didn't quite land.

Of course the biggest shocker of the episode was the future trip. Yup, another alien invasion in Metropolis but where's Superman? Dead seemingly. Saying that, there's a bald Lex Luthor trying to do the right thing by sending Superboy (Darren Criss) back in time to prevent the disaster they're living in.

- Lois was a fan of Black Canary's music, which Supergirl discovered.

- Clark trying to work on his model farm was cute. We saw a Krypto looking dog.

- Cyborg Superman's hero career was over after his altercation with Silver Banshee backfired on him.

- Chronology: Shortly after the events of the second episode.

All's Fair In Love And W.O.R.M.S was a pretty solid episode overall with the last scene really setting up the events for the rest of the season.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "Mobile Suit Toyman"

Whip: "Your low income is real turnoff, Superman!"

Superman: "I am not discussing my personal finances with a super-villain."

Okay, this was an episode that had our Kryptonian duo put through their paces. Superman got the workout from a minor villain and Supergirl had more of an emotional turmoil to work through.

I'll go with Supergirl first. She's got feelings for Jimmy and while he clearly has feelings for her, Jimmy also encouraged Kara to keep her options open. Unfortunately for Jimmy, Kara's not short of admirers whatsoever.

Then there's the Super-Fest panel being moderated by Cat Grant. Cat certainly had a way of making Kara feel like she had no purpose. Fortunately for Kara, a young woman named Jessica Cruz (Auli'l Cravalho) was able to give Kara the much needed pep talk that she needed to hear.

As for Superman, he got to tangle with a low level criminal named Whip. I say low level but she also had access to Kryptonite and had problems using it to cause Superman much distress. Of course she was more annoyed by his financial status and altruism before Superman eventually got the better of her.

Last but not least, there was Lois Lane. She wasn't her best here but she managed to recognise that Toyman hadn't reformed and she pretty much goaded him into using his new suit. Toyman's actions also served as a way for Lex Luthor to get great publicity for Cyborg Superman. Lex certainly took everyone by surprise this week with that stunt of his.

- Jimmy's comic Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen had a villain version of Lois and didn't seem to impress Lex either.

- Jessica Cruz will be headlining her own spin-off, My Adventures With Green Lantern. Supergirl also "kidnapped" the actors from Challengers Of The Unknown for a brief moment.

- Bizarro cosplayed as Superman during Super-Fest. There were cosplayers for Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy as well.

- Chronology: Not long since the previous episode.

Mobile Suit Toyman was a strong second episode for both the Superman and Supergirl plots as well as Lex blind sighting everyone. Lois and Jimmy's scenes were a bit weaker but not by much.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman: "Into The New World"

Superman (to Bizarro): "Your choice will change the future in ways you and I can't imagine."

It's been two years since the second season finale and with the possibility that the show might not get a fourth season, this opening episode certainly kicked off a bit of a mission statement.

First of all, we've got a really lovely Core Four with Superman, Supergirl, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. I mean we had that since last season but it's very apparent in this opening episode and it was a nice way of freshening up the show's dynamic. 

Throw in a nice Halloween subplot and the return of Sam Lane, the crux of this episode focused on Project Calliban. It brought our Core Four together to investigate and it also introduced us to Bizarro. 

As a character, Bizarro has been tackled a lot in recent years with each version going for the sympathetic route. This show will be no different in that regard with Superman and Bizarro even teaming up against other baddies during the big scuffle.

Now what about Lex Luthor? Last time he threw his lot in with Amanda Waller and Slade Wilson. During the final scene of this episode we were getting the origin of Cyborg Superman as Lex found a use for the badly wounded and barely alive Hank Henshaw.

- Supergirl got taunted by Brainiac over her new perspective and there was the use of Dr George Otto Binder who raised Brainiac with love.

- Both Jimmy and Kara dressed as characters from Challengers Of The Unknown. Clark really liked Halloween.

- Both Superman and Supergirl got costume upgraded and the opening credits were also upgraded.

- Chronology: A while since the events of the second season.

Into The New World was a good opening episode. The Core Four dynamic worked very well and I really liked the use of Bizarro and set up for Cyborg Superman.

DCU Blog - May 2026 Edition: The Batman Pt II Casting, Super Summer Mark 2

Yup, this month certainly delivered on the front of casting news, among other things. Without further ado, let's get into it.

In addition to Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan, The Batman Part II (October 1st 2027) has added Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch to the cast. Dance will play Christopher Dent.

James Gunn confirmed on Threads that between General Zod, Doomsday, Doctor Fate, Black Adam, Ultraman and Darkseid that two of them will be showing up in the DCU soon.

Tom King has been hyping the casting for his upcoming Mister Miracle animated show. Casting should be revealed soon enough.

As of now, there are no directors being talked to about Teen Titans.

Matthew Lillard has joined the cast of Man Of Tomorrow (July 9th 2027) in an undisclosed role. Sinqua Walls has also been cast.

Volker Bertelmann will score Clayface (October 23rd 2026).

Greg Mottolo is seemingly in the mix to direct the Deathstroke And Bane movie, which has yet to be officially greenlit.

The arrival of Supergirl (June 26th) is close and we've been getting plenty of TV spots and interviews from Milly Alcock herself. She'll reprise the role in Man Of Tomorrow.

Absolute Wonder Woman has concluded it's current arc and is now moving into a new one with Barbara Minerva becoming the latest Cheetah.

Nicole Maines will be writing this year's DC Pride titled Justice League: Dream Girls - A DC Pride Event. The four part series will be released throughout the month of June.

Darren Criss will voice the role of Superboy for the third season of My Adventures With Superman, which premieres on Adult Swim from June 13th. Jessica Cruz will also feature.

Lanterns has officially been confirmed for August 16th on HBO with the latest trailer also confirming Laura Linney's casting. Chris Cantwell has been hired for the second season.

DC Animation/Warner Brothers will premiere Knightfall at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival among upcoming DC animated shows.

The second season of Creature Commandos will premiere on HBO Max after Man Of Tomorrow. The first episode is titled Starry Night.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman 2x10: "My Adventures With Supergirl"

Superman (to Kara): "I know what it's like to be alone. To search for a place you belong but home isn't a place. Home is the people who love you, so come back to us, Kara."

I can definitely say that this second season has not only maintained the standard of the first season but has gone above and beyond. For this finale, I think we got one of the loveliest depictions of family that we've had in a Superman property.

At the end of the previous, it appeared as though Brainiac had not only defeated both Superman and Supergirl but it looked like he was about to enslave Metropolis. Of course, Superman and Supergirl were still alive, so Brainiac had to work harder in order to bring both of them down.

For Superman, it was giving him some home truths about the last days of Krypton and with Kara, it was preying on her insecurities. It almost worked with Kara falling victim to Brainiac's power but Superman, Lous and Jimmy were the ones to bring her back to the side of good. Let's just say, Superman's speech about home really struck a chord, a big one for Kara. Adding both Lois and Jimmy in that scene made it even better.

As for Brainiac's defeat, it was glorious to see. Having both Superman and Supergirl, the citizens of Metropolis, Daily Planet, A.R.G.U.S. and even some past villains such as Heat Wave, Silver Banshee, Livewire and Intergang working together for a common cause. Now this was the type of inspiration that Superman can really have with the right writing.

Capping off the season, Brainiac and Kandor are out of the picture and Kara has settled into Metropolis. It was great seeing Jonathan and Martha essentially adopt but the last scene with Superman, Supergirl, Lois and Jimmy all flying off together to save the day. It was a great way to end this season and would've served as a great series finale had the show not been renewed for a third season.

- Amanda Waller found herself on the run by the end of this episode. I did like her "complicated" reunion with Sam.

- Lex might have lost control of the Metallos but he did set up LexCorp and gained Deathstroke as an ally.

- Supergirl's new suit was very much the same as Superman's. I'd fix the shoulder pads on both tbh.

Overall, the second season has been a blast and My Adventures With Supergirl was a great ender for a very enjoyable run of episodes. I'm really glad that we're getting another season of this show.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman 2x09: "Pierce The Heavens, Superman"

Lois: "I love you, Clark Kent."

Superman: "I will always love you, Lois Lane."

After the previous episode, we had Superman taken over by Brainiac and Lois decided to take on the Black Mercy herself. Needless to say, it wsnt her brightest idea, given that it totally took over Superman.

Inside the Black Mercy, Superman found himself reunited with Jor-El and Lara, but a much colder version of his birth parents. A version that seemed very determined to suppress both his free will and memories as best they could. What they hadn't banked on was Lois and how impossible getting rid of her would turn out to be.

Lois being a spanner in the works of couldxwoukd proof to be essential. No matter how much Jor-El and Lara tried to remove her, the more her influence grew on Clark. Yet again, we got another big moment of love being declared between Superman and Lois. It was also vital in breaking the Black Mercy from the both of them.

The last act of the episode was an invasion on Metropolis by Brainiac and its done pretty well here. It was also a good way of showing how utterly ineffectual Amanda Waller's plan for the city's protection with Brainiac easily taking control of her robots and then there was the team up of Superman and Kara to take out Brainiac.

With this being the penultimate episode, of course Brainiac managed to temporarily defeat both Superman and Kara, mainly through the use of Kryptonite. Right now, things aren't looking good for the citizens of Metropolis. 

- I did like having the Daily Planet team and Vicki Vale band together to distract Waller in order to rescue Jimmy and Kara.

- Superman got a nice new suit after Brainiac's hold on him was broken. Now we have to get Kara out of that Brainiac warrior look.

- Even in his mind, Clark's so nice he won't even kill a Sun Eater.

A rather strong penultimate episode. Pierce The Heavens, Superman had some really great characters moments and action sequences. I've enjoyed this Brainisc arc and I can't wait to see how next week's finale will conclude it.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman 2x08: "The Death Of Clark Kent"

Brainiac (to Lois/Jimmy): "There is no more Kal-El. There is only the machine who is Empire."

After having the title character sit out the previous episode, this one brought Superman back into the mix, but alas, for him, a common Superman trope happened here. No, not that one. The other one. Yeah, Superman just cannot catch a break from bring taken over.

With the use of a device called Black Mercy, Brainiac spent a good portion of this episode invading Superman's mind and corrupting his memories before eventually succeeding in taking him over. At least Superman tried to put up a fight though it was one that he ended up losing.

In the battle of wits, we got to see Superman's past battles with Luvewire and Parasite somewhat distorted before Brainiac realised that Lois and Jimmy were his biggest strengths. Yes, we got to watch Superman being isolated by Lois during Brainiac's hostile takeover of him. 

With Brainiac fully in control of Superman, this episode saw him lose control of Kara. Well, to be fair, Brainiac practically traded her in for Kal-El and Kaea got a very harsh wake up about her father's true motives. On the plus side, at least she managed to team up with Lois, Jimmy, Monsieur Mallah and the Brain.

I really loved this team up throughout the episode and I thought the mutual attraction between Kara and Jimmy was handled well here. Lois also got past her own issues with Kara, guilt for rejecting Clark and even came up with a plan to rescue Superman. Yeah, she's used the Black Mercy.

- We got a lot of different memories being corrupted by Brainiac, including a destroyed Smallville at one point.

- While Lous was right to initially mistrust Kara, the latter was also right to mistrust Lois.

- Jimmy is definitely going to have to explain to Kara that he's not the leader of Earth.

I really liked The Death Of Clark Kent. Brainiac's manipulations of Superman were done nicely throughout the episode and Kara's team up with the gang was fun to watch. This Brainiac story has been great.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman 2x07: "Olsen's Eleven"

Livewire (to Lois): "Love isn't for cowards."

To end the moth of Pride, the writers of this show decided to treat us to not one but two gay couples and given that Superman himself was pretty much absent, they were definitely giving us a treat here. More of that now of course.

Last week, we saw Superman dealing with both Kara and Brainiac and the events of this episode were in tandem with the previous one. It was Lois and Jimmy's perspective, having witnessed Superman's abduction. Of course they weren't going to let that slide. They were determined to get Superman back.

To do that, they needed a spaceship and STAR Labs conveniently had one. To get the spaceship, they needed help. For Jimmy, that was getting Monsieur Mallah and the Brain back and for Lois, that also meant getting both Livewire and Heatwave on board. It took a lot of Jimmy's funds for one half of the latter to be convinced to help.

Between Livewire and Heatwave became a couple but the latter had become frustrated with the former not knowing when to quit. Throughout the episode, it looked like Lois and Jimmy's plan to get the ship was going to fall apart. When it looked like Mallah and the Brain abandoned them, they turned up to help. When it looked like Livewire was going to leave to Deathstroke, both her and Hwatwave revealed their true plan.

There's a lovely if very heavy handed speech on love but considering it's the last day of Pride Month, I think it worked within the context of the episode. Anyways the episode ended with Lois, Jimmy, Mallah and the Brain in space confronting Kara. Now let's get go saving Superman.

As for the B plot of the episode, Amanda Waller has the Himan Defense Corps at her behest, Lex almost looked like he was about to lose her favour until a last minute save. Then there was Deathstroke, who not only failed to stop Lois and Jimmy, but he's also come out looking weaker in his new rivalry with Lex.

- Did Jimmy give virtually all of his money to Livewire? Is he poor now? Livewire, Heatwave and their gang cleared out a lot of stuff from STAR Labs.

- Lois caught on quick enough that Jimmy had feelings for Kara. Jimmy also warned her she was sounding like her father during one scene.

- That poor reporter foolishly tried to expose Waller on live television. It didn't end well for him.

- Chronology: It's within tandem of the previous episode.

Easily the best episode so far this season and it didn't end have Superman in it. I really loved Olsen's Eleven. The heist aspect worked well, both couples were fantastic with Lois and Jimmy and the B plot moved things along as well.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman 2x06: "The Machine Who Would Be Empire"

Brainiac (to Superman): "Please.  Let me show you my Krypton."

Last week we left off with a very hostile Supergirl kidnapping Superman. This week, he's woken up on a spaceship and wasn't best pleased with being taken off world. He almost escaped but then Kara mentioned other Kryptonians being alive. That alone kept him around his cousin.

Yeah, this episode was something of a bonding experience for Clark and Kara. The latter was convinced that being on Earth had made Kal-El too soft but as the episode unfolded, it was clear that Kara herself was also being influenced by a planet she was mistrusting of. That was something that Clark found highly amusing.

Of course the biggest takeaway was Kara keeping souvenirs from some of the world's she had visited with the Krytonian Empire and seeing Thanagar in ruins gave Kara a bit of a harsh wake up call. It also naturally caused Superman to be suspicious when he realised that the father Kara was referring to wasn't his uncle either.

Yes, Brainiac was revealed to be Kara's "father" and he wasn't best pleased with her veering off his mission from her. He also tried to get Superman on side by showing him his Krypton, which didn't totally succeed. When he couldn't get Superman to agree with him, Brainiac didn't hold back revealing his true nature. In fact, Brainiac was a bit too quick to play his villainous hand.

On the plus side while this episode might have had Superman remain a prisoner of Braniac, at least Kara broke free of his influence and managed to escape. Then the episode ended with her bumping into Lois and Jimmy. Now they just need to get Superman away from Brainiac.

- Superman found out pretty fast that Kara has a crush on Jimmy. The latter will be pleased given their scenes from last week.

- Superman learned from Brainiac that his mother name was Lara. Kara couldn't even remember her own father's name.

- I did find it amusing how long it took Superman to realise that he didn't need a helmet in order to breathe in outer space.

- Chronology: From where the previous episode left off.

I wasn't keen on last week's episode but The Machine Who Would Be Empire was definitely a step up. Brainiac might have played his hand too quickly but I enjoyed his presence while the bonding scenes with Superman and soon to be Supergirl were done well.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman 2x05: "Most Eligible Superman"

Superman: "Lois, are, are you breaking up with me?"

Now that we're at the halfway point of the season, I guess it was time for a series shake up that involved the break up and the cousin introduction getting off on the wrong foot. Oh dear to both plots.

Now I do get where and why both stories are happening but I can't help being a bit disappointed with both developments. Either way, this wasn't a great episode to beceither Clark Kent or Superman.

First of all, there was the weirdness factor of Jimmy inadvertently helping Lex Luthor's recently power grab and the awkwardness that remained between him and Superman/Clark Kent. Fortunately for Jimmy, a certain newcomer helped to distract him for most of this episode.

The newcomer being Kara Zor-El (Kiana Madeida). Yes, she got her cousin's message but it was Jimmy she interacted with for the most part while also learning of human customs. When she finally did meet Superman, it went as badly as possible with Supeerman being kidnapped by his own cousin. Yeah, Kara's under Brainiac's control and his whole plan pivoted in a different direction.

Of course when Superman wasn't being abducted by his cousin, he also broke up with Lois as well. The most eligible bachelor and bacholorette contest definitely brought out Lois's insecurities (with Cat Grant also not helping in that department) and she dumped the Man of Steel. Now both her and Jimmy have to rescue him from Brainiac next week.

- The contest saw a version of Silver St Cloud and Hank Henshaw. Their scenes with Superman were definitely night and day in terms of reactions towards him.

- In most continuities, Jimmy Olsen usually would have a crush on Supergirl. This version maintained that status quo.

- Lous admitted to Superman about her job offer in Gotham. Will she take it? Well, if she did it might lead to seeing Batman on this show.

- Chronology: Not long from where the previous episode left off.

Yeah, I think ghus one was the weakest episode so far in the series. I was hyped for Kara's appearance but with Most Eligible Superman, it's really gotten off to a bad start along with the Superman/Lois break up. Next week does look better though.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman 2x04: "Two Lanes Diverged"

Lois (to General Lane): "All you've ever wanted was for me to make it on my own. Okay, Dad, you win. I'll make it without you."

Okay, then. We got an episode where Lois and Sam Lane's relationship was put through the ringer. A good look into the father/daughter dynamic that's been fairly messy on this show. 

In flashbacks we had Sam training Lois to train herself and locate the North Star. It took Lois a bit to learn that while also venting her frustration over various issues. Notably her mother's illness and constantly losing friends by constantly having to move with Sam's job. Sam didn't exactly help matters either.

In the present day, both Lois and Sam were betrayed by Winslow Schott and nearly killed by Deathstroke and various Task Force X agents. Yet they managed to survive and hashed out some issues while Sam also moved in with Lois. Given that he was putting both Clark and Jimmy on edge, he won't be missed by either.

Speaking of Jimmy, the B plot of the episode had the Flamebird superstar schmoozing at a STAR Labs do where his own loyalty to Superman was tested. Let's just the newly out and about Lex Luthor was doing his best to undermine Superman throughout the event and things got awkward between Superman and his best pal.

As for the last scenes of the episode, there was Superman trying to contact Kara while Lex and Waller's own victories could be undermined by the arrival of the Nemesis Omega. Yeah, the latter two might have gloated a bit too soon about gaining the upper hand.

- We didn't get any pick up on Lois potentially going to the Gotham Gazaette but it seems like Lucy doesn't exist in this continuity.

- Sam knows there's something not quite right with Clark but still hasn't clocked on to him being Superman. It does feel like he's going to become privy soon.

- Lex certainly had no problem reminding Jimmy of the confidence boost the latter gave him in the first episode.

- Chronology: Not long from where the last episode left off.

For the most part, I thought Two Lanes Diverged was rather good. Not as good as earlier episodes but things are still moving in the right direction. We're getting that Superman/Lex rivalry and Supergirl's on the way. That's good going.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman 2x03: "Fullmetal Scientist"

Superman: "I'm pretty sure I told you to run, Dr Irons."

Steel: "And I thought I told you, this is my home."

If last week's double bill revealed a popular Superman who had been hiding in plain sight, then this one revealed nor one but two allies, along with the return of another enemy to boot.

The allies being both Silas Stone and Dr John Henry Irons. Both men were employees at AmbeTech where their opposition to Thomas Weston's ambition to succeed Dr Ivo with dangerous Metallo style bots put both men in harm's way. That of course led to the return of Livewire. She certainly made her presence known.

When Superman wasn't just about saving both men from being killed by Livewire, everyone else was trying to get the scoop on Weston. You had one subplot with Lois and Vicki Vale trying to outdo each other. That resulted in Lous getting an unexpected job offer that she'll likely be tempted to take.

The other involved Jimmy coming to grips with being a boss and trying to rein Flip in. He didn't really succeed there but she did lead Jimmy to meeting Dr Irons and Jimmy seemed to learn a lesson about being a boss. Personally, I think Flip was being too reckless I this episode.

As for Superman, he just about managed to stop Weston's unwise scheme but he had help. Introducing Dr Irons as Steel, who got some nice action sequences as well as some fun banter with Superman. He also got officially fired by Lex Luthor as the origins of LexCorp came into play during the last scene.

- We got a fake out where it appeared Sam Lane copped on go Clark being Superman. Instead he thought Clark was a flake.

- Despite being mentioned in the last two episodes, there was no movement on the Supergirl story this week.

- Both Natasha Irons and Victor Stone were referenced but didn't appear.

- Chronology: A few since the events of the previous episode.

Fullmetal Scientist had a great first meeting between Superman and Steel along with some great action sequences with the Metallos. The connecting subplots and Clark's article all added to the episode too.

My Review of My Adventures With Superman 2x02: "Adventures With My Girlfriend"

Amanda: "Oh, Sam, that's easy. Today's the day you talk."

Amanda Waller, never change. No, seriously, you're just too enjoyable as a baddie and this episode displayed Waller at her worst so far this show. She opened the episode preparing breakfast.

The breakfast she explored was for Sam Lane under the assurance that she would break him and when it appeared she was failing, she made it clear to Sam that she'd have no problem using Lois to get what she wanted.

In all fairness, she didn't need to bother because Lois and Superman came to her in order to rescue Sam. In that, it was revealed that Waller was using Kryptonian tech in order to experiment on the prisoners, including Billy's father. 

Yup, it showed Waller at her worst to the point where even Sam was openly disgusted with her actions. Of course from Waller's perspective she just willing to make the kind of sacrifices that Sam refused to make. However her actions nearly caught up with her when Parasite was on the loose. 

Fortunately for Amanda though, her rescuer was none other than Alexander 'Lex' Luthor. Yes, they finally revealed his identity after barely attempting to cover it up to begin with and Lex's quick thinking not only saved Waller's life but bagged him a scientific position to boot.

As for Superman and Lois, I did like that Clatk expressed his misgivings about Sam and how the latter mistreated him and Lois. I'm also not sure what Lois was thinking by suggesting that Sam stayed with Clark and Jimmy. That wasn't her brightest idea.

- Jimmy got assigned a Flamebird group (which included Steve Lombard) by Perry. Steve had access to a boat.

- I'm wondering was Agent Martin meant to be Dr Phosphorus? It seemed like it.

- Livewire got a mention in the episode by Waller when the latter was talking about her latest experiments.

- Chronology: From where the previous episode left off.

Adventures With My Girlfriend certainly had plenty of action with the searches for both Sam and Supergirl dominating the episode, along with Amanda's ruthlessness on full display. The Jimmy subplot was amusing enough too.
