We're less than three weeks for the seventh and final season of True Blood and HBO are thankfully upping the promotional material (though some cast shots wouldn't go amiss) and the second trailer provided some new-ish clips to look over ...
I don't know if I'm reading this properly but is it me or does it look like that James (Nathan Parsons) and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) might become a thing this season? I guess at the very least they're connected to the 'one vampire per person' thing that Sam and Bill have seemingly got the residents of Bon Temps involved in but there's also a moment in the trailer where Lafayette talks about wanting to be happy. It does make me wonder then if this was the development that saw the character of James being recast. Either way, I'm intrigued by where this one could go.
A little less surprising though in the trailer are the various scenes with Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) reconnecting, working together and generally their interactions upsetting Alcide (Joe Manganiello) a great deal. I have a feeling the Sookie/Alcide and Sookie/Eric shippers are not going to like a great deal of the final season if these clips are anything to go by. Personally, I'm not too fussed either way. While I prefer Alcide, I do think it could make some sense for Sookie to reunite with Bill in the last ever episode of the season.
As for the rest of the trailer - more stuff involving the townfolk blaming Sookie for the increased vampire problems, more vampire attacks, some of the gang having a big party, various shots of our main characters but at the same making sure not to show a single thing in relation to Eric (Alexander Skarsgard). I guess the writers want us to guess a little longer as to how he got out of his fiery predicament.
Meanwhile the week prior to the arrival of the show's seventh season (and the same week as the fourth season finale of Game Of Thrones), HBO will have a 30 minute show titled, A Farewell To Bon Temps, interviewing various cast and crew, including former showrunner, Alan Ball. It's nice to see the cable station give the show that extra push for it's final run.
