Batman: "I keep my friends close, my enemies closer."
Superman: "I hope not much closer than this. Hey... you're not implying that..."
I think for the most part, these DC Lego movies have been very entertaining, albeit a bit too childish in parts. This one while significantly shorter than the other ones I've watched and reviewed certainly felt more childish than before.
Focusing on Superman and Bizarro (Nolan North), the former has grown tired of the latter's well intentioned but disruptive ways of helping the citizens of Metropolis. Superman came up with a way to keep Bizarro out of his hair. It nearly worked as well until it didn't.
Giving Bizarro an abandoned planet where he could play superhero to inanimate objects was a good solution but he's not stupid. Bizarro missed not having a League of his own and with this movie, he found a novel way to get around his loneliness.
Bizarro got access to a certain ray gun and blasted Batman (Troy Baker), Wonder Woman (Grey Griffin), Cyborg (Khary Payton) and Guy Gardner (Diedrich Bader) with the ray creating Bizarro versions of themselves, dubbed Batzarro, Bizarra, Cyzarro, and Greenzarro. They really do act like the opposite of their counterparts.
Of course while there's not much fighting between two sets of Justice League groups, there was a bigger threat in Darkseid (Tony Todd). He wants some gold rocks to disrupt Earth's defences, we get Superman on the verge of death, Bizarro got his hero moment and both groups learned to work together.
- Lex Luthor (John DiMaggio) had access to Martian Manhunter, which set up another one of the movies I've previously watched and reviewed.
- Other characters that appeared in the movie included Green Arrow, The Flash, Plastic Man, Deathstroke, Giganta, Deathstroke, the Penguin, Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd and DeSaad.
- Batman had extra precautions in case Superman turned rogue in this movie.
- Chronology: Present day Metropolis, Bizarro World and Darkseid's ship.
Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League had some fun moments and it's diverting enough. Saying that, I think only very young fans will appreciate these movies more than older ones.
