It's not just Netflix coming up with their own original series. Amazon US/UK are also getting in on the act and with former Six Feet Under scribe Jill Soloway, they have come up with a unique ten episode series, named Transparent.
The series, starring Arrested Development's Jeffrey Tambor will focus on a family's reaction to their father (played by Tambor) becoming a woman named Maura. The family includes Amy Landecker as oldest daughter, Sarah, Jay Duplass as middle child Josh and Gaby Hoffman as youngest daughter, Ali with Judith Light playing the mother of the family.
Judging from the trailer, there's a nice sense of black humour reminiscent of Soloway's work on Six Feet Under as well as shows such as Orange Is The New Black and Weeds. It's certainly an interesting project for Amazon to take on and one that has been a dream come true for Soloway to make. Definitely one to watch.

Transparent will be available to watch on both the US and UK versions of Amazon from September 26th.
