After weeks of little teasers here and there, the BBC have finally released some cast shots of the upcoming series, Atlantis along with a minute long trailer.
The cast shots so far do seem to focus mainly on Hercules (Mark Addy), Jason (Jack Donnelly) and Pythagoras (Robert Emms) but thankfully the trailer seemed to give us a little insight, not only into those three characters (who easily can be compared to Merlin/Arthur/Gwaine - you decide who fits which role) but even a little into the female characters as well.
As for the female characters - Ariadne (Aiysha Hart) definitely seemed to be destined for a romance with Jason (who is also destined for great things), Medusa (Jemima Rooper) seemed like she'll be an initially sympathetic character like a certain witch on Merlin while Juliet Stevenson's Oracle and Sarah Parish's Pasiphae have the potential to be interesting characters. Watching the trailer, it's hard not to draw comparisons between this show and it's predecessor, Merlin but either way, I am certainly looking forward to getting caught up in this adventure show for the next thirteen weeks.
