This week we had the casting for Scream Queens announced and now it's time for the cast of Ryan Murphy's other anthology show - American Crime Story: The People V. OJ Simpson.
The 13 episode series due to air on FX next year and based on the book, The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, it has been revealed that Cuba Gooding Jr, best known for his roles in Jerry Maguire and Instinct will be playing Simpson himself while American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson will be taking on the role of case prosecutor, Marcia Clark.
The series will focus on he perspective of the lawyers that explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness, and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt. The series will be executive produced by Ryan Murphy who will direct the first two hours (to be written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski) along with Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson & Brad Simpson, Alexander, Karaszewski and Dante Di Loreto. It's also been revealed that each season (assuming it's a success) will focus on a different famous true crime.
I'm not entirely sure about this one though. The casting is good (though I'm sad if it means we lose Paulson from American Horror Story). I'll probably watch the first episode though to see how it fares but I'm looking forward to Scream Queens a bit more.
