I think we all saw it coming but yesterday ABC finally confirmed that Revenge will be ending for good after four seasons.
The show which debuted in 2011 will conclude with it's final two episodes Plea and Two Graves, the latter of which will air on May 10th. Executive producer Sunil Nayar told Entertainment Weekly ....
“We’ve been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident. Now that everybody has seen the finale—which is fabulous—everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to to end. This is the series finale of Revenge that will be airing in a couple weeks.”
Personally I think Revenge's ending is one of the least surprising cancellations we've had. Aside from the ratings sadly declining and ABC's lack of decent promotion this season, the fourth season has had so many moments where it looked like the show was wrapping up anyways - David being alive/exonerated, Daniel's death, Charlotte fleeing the Hamptons, Emily revealing to the world that she's Amanda and of course, Victoria blowing herself up as well. Now I love the show to bits but there's no way it could've logically justified a fifth run (even a truncated season would've been pushing it) and four seasons is a good run for the show. I'll miss Emily's weekly take downs and the wonderfulness that is Nolan but all good things have to end and hopefully the final episode will wrap things up in a satisfying way for the show.
