Being Human US - First Cast Pictures

There might be a while before the UK version of Being Human is back on our screens but the US version is certainly gathering speed.

First things's first - instead of George, Mitchell and Annie, this cast comprises of Josh (Sam Huntington), Aidan (Sam Witwer) and Sally (Meaghan Rath) who are a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost living in a house together in Boston. So far, mostly faithful to the series by Toby Whithouse.

So far, the press releases for the series aren't releasing anything too spoilery but it can be assumed that the first series of the US Being Human will basically follow the same course as the UK one, even though SyFy have commissioned 13 episodes for it's debut season.

From a casting standpoint - they all look pretty damn good. Meaghan Rath looks a perfect Sally/Annie character, Sam Huntington might not be as muscular as Russell Tovey but he's definitely a nice looking Josh/George type and Sam Witwer is just perfect for a vampire as complicated and volatile as Aidan/Mitchell can be.

In terms of the Bishop role (Herrick to the rest of us), great casting with Mark Pellegrino there. I've liked him in Lost and Supernatural and I can't wait to see what he brings to the table here. In terms of quality, if this is good, this could be a nice competitor for the likes of The Vampire Diaries and True Blood. Also as to whether or not, I'll be reviewing this series, just watch this space.

The series will premiere on SyFy in January 2011. No UK broadcaster has been confirmed yet.

And the werewolf gets to keep his shorts. So american :)
But the cast is no terrible off, so we`ll see... Although nobody can hold a candle to Tobey`s George, I`m sorry.
On another note, why do they keep doing remakes?! Man, c`mon, let go. Queer as Folk was rather good, but Life on Mars? Coupling? So sad...

It airs on SyFy so I guess the nudity has to be a little limited compared to if it was someone like HBO or Showtime doing the series.

Remakes are constant over the last few years but most of them flop. It'll be interesting to see if this is a) worth watching and b) successful for SyFy.

Just wonderful. I knew the U.S. cast would look like they walked straight out of the CW Channel. Gossip Girl with fangs and what not. I am a U.S. American and I say stop with all the cheapened copies! I found this gem of a show by accident last year and I can't understand why they would want to make another version of it when they could just air this one here in the States. Besides, no one can do it better than original cast. Russell Tovey's "George" can never be topped, so they might as well not even try. First, I hear of 'Shameless' and 'Skins' becoming Americanized and now this. Ugh!

It starts in a week and a half's time. I'll give it a go but I'm more looking to the UK version as usual.
