First Look: Glue

For those of you missing Skins and waiting for the next series of My Mad Fat Diary, it seems that E4 will have something to keep you occupied with the arrival of teen murder mystery drama, Glue.

The series, created by Jack Thorne (The Fades) focuses on a tiny village called Overton in an English countryside which soons becomes the place where the body of a teenage boy is found under a tractor. As a result the friends of the boy and the villagers are forced to open up their world and watch their secrets spill out. Secrets that will change their particular brand of country life forever.

Casting for the series include both Yasmin Page and Thomas Lawrence Knight from The Sarah Jane Adventures as well as Callum Turner (Leaving), Rizzle Kick's Jordan Stephens, Jessica Cave (Harry Potter), Faye Marsay (Fresh Meat). Other casting includes Kerry Fox (Bright Star), Jonny Owen (Shameless), Kierston Wareing (Luther), and Steve Oram (Sightseers) to name a few of the familiar faces to be seen in the series.

Judging by the trailer, it does seem like Thorne and E4 are trying to capture a feel similar to both Skins and ITV's Broadchurch, though whether or not Glue will have the same impact as either series is hard to tell at the moment. It certainly looks promising and the farming/horse racing setting certainly adds something different to proceedings.
